I am remain puzzled as to why this scene is always under the radar when discussing the merits (or lack of) of the fight scenes in the series.
Nolan got everything right in this scene. The camera work, lighting, short yet effective choreography to hide his weaknesses, etc.
I think this is the best scene of Bats taking down goons in a live action Bat film. It is a shame Nolan didn't film the TDK fights in this manner. As I feel it is the perfect middle ground of the two extreme approaches he took; the fast cuts in Begins, and the 60's-esque Hollywood fight choreography in the Dark Knight.
