She'll likely change her name (if NXT Takeover is any indication, it'll probably be Kanna) but her look will remain the same. Kevin Owens is still Kevin Steen, Finn Balor is still Prince Devitt and the WWE even allowed him to keep the elaborate entrances. Hideo Itami is still Kenta, and Cesaro is still Claudio Castagnoli. Only Sami Zayn has had a wholesale gimmick change.

And Daniel Bryan is still Bryan Danielson.

Sting needs to get off WWE TV. His stuff is unbearable.

That's not his fault.

He already lost any credibility when he lost to Triple H. He's always been an average wrestler at best and he's even older now. His character was never anymore and peaked when he wasn't talking, stalking the NWO and beating them up weekly. I never saw what anyone saw that was so special in him. It'd be a waste of time if they put the title on him.

He'll be retiring soon anyway. He deserves this one last hurrah.

I don't like Sting possibly winning the title, but he and Flair are the most deserving WCW main event guys when it comes to holding the WWE Championship, so whatever.

Daniel Bryan has become an awesome character but he's very different from the cocky foul mouthed ass kicker known as Bryan Danielson that had a "You're going to head get your f-ckin head kicked in" chant. Nonetheless he's probably more in line with his real life nice self in his current persona

Is Apollo Crews really that good? And who is the other guy? I would like if more black wrestlers in WWE be given the brass ring. It just be nice to see one of my own in a Bruno Sammartino, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin and John Cena role.

We did get the Rock. Yeah, the Samoan part was played up but he is still a black man too. But we need more black wrestlers or minorities in general. The last ones who got to hold the torch were Guerrero and Batista. And some may say it doesn't really count because that was Smackdown.

The positive thing is that the 'E was and still is high on Reigns. So for diversity's sake, it's a positive once Reigns is "ready".

I agree. For the sake of bringing him into the 'E, give him the belt just for one month.

By the way, I'd like to thank Michael Cole for taking a dig at Vince tonight during the Cesero vs Miz match.

To think Xavier Woods used to be TNA's Consequences Creed

He was touched that I remembered his work in TNA when we spoke in San Jose for Wrestlemania week. His favorite match there was against Petey Williams.

I also thought it was cool he did an homage to his previous character for the 4th of July Smackdown episode last year before getting squashed by Rusev.

It's already difficult to make it to the top of WWE, but it's even more difficult if you're a person of color. WWE tends to hinder ever non white wrestler with a stereotypical "ethnic" gimmick at some point or another.

It seriously speaks to how talented Eddie Guerrero was that he made those stupid "Latino Heat" and "Lie, Cheat, Steal" gimmick work. Same goes for New Day, the fact that they were able to turn that thing around speaks volumes about their work ethnic.

If you haven't already everybody should listen to the Talk is Jericho episode where he talks to New Day about their gimmick. They give a lot of insight in to how they made things work despite Vince having a dumb idea from the jump.

Sting threw Rollins's statue in a garbage truck and did t Casey Jones it? Wasted opportunity.

I like the Sting stuff from last night.. nothing wrong with a bit of "fun" in a main storyline. Austin did that kind of stuff all the time. I think the best part is watching Seth react to the situations since he plays a great heel.

There was also, King Booker. :cwink:

There needs to be more diversity with the WWE in general. It's awful how both black and Japanese wrestlers have treated in the WWE in addition to Hispanic wrestlers.

Don't forget The Rock also began with a more "Samoan" gimmick. It's not as intense as say, Umaga or others in his family, but he was a bit of a Samoan stereotype combined with a babyface.

I don't have an issue with Sting having a short title reign somewhere down the line, I just don't want him to be the one to end Seth's run. **** that. Seth should hold it until Mania and drop it to a top face there. Sheamus should either cash in and lose or put the briefcase on the line in a match and drop it to someone else.

The most stereotyped minority group in the WWE historically has been white guys from the Deep South. :o

Think about it: Hillbilly Jim, Uncle Elmer, the Godwinns, Double J Jeff Jarrett, the Honky Tonk Man, the Moondogs, Jacob and Eli Blu, the Wyatts even.

I'd argue the best thing for Seth would be to face a guy like Sting and drop the belt to him.

Sting is one of the most beloved babyfaces ever. Imagine the type of heat Seth could get going against him. Just have Seth screw Sting over to win the rematch.

That's not every wrestler from the south though, or even a majority of them.

Dude had some balls. Then Cena was like "Hey! Hold up!" to the security.

LOL

That's crazy, although nothing has yet to come close to this:

Well their biggest competition did used to be in the South.

Sting's time with WWE is very limited. If they want to get the belt on him at least once in his career then now is the time. Rollins won't look half as weak dropping the belt to Sting as he has been just in general lately. I expect a HHH screwjob on Rollins to turn him face and perhaps even something involving Sheamus.

As for Sting being goofy. It seems like this time around he's channeling his Joker character from TNA as opposed to the last time when we got the 96-97 incarnation. I'm sure when the build to Sting/Taker starts it's going to be more of his legend status put to the forefront.

I swear the biggest mistakes WWE has made with Sting has been allowing him to talk and wear that coat with the red coloring.

With Sting less is always more. At the height of his popularity he didn't say a single word for MONTHS. Nobody knew exactly what he wanted or what his motivations were. THAT's what made him so cool during his feud with the nWo.

I think the joking incarnation of Sting is highly appropriate for the kind of antagonist he is working against. Seth Rollins is a petty, unstable and vindictive deceiver with a Napoleon complex, and as such requires an opponent who offends his dignity by casually destroying whatever small comforts define him.

Brooding Sting would be better suited if his opponent was Brock Lesnar or Undertaker, or Triple H circa 2002.

I could totally see Seth Rollins with a general type gimmick down the road. Just be another dimension to his character.
