Thomas Haden Church on Conan Tonight

Anybody see him on PBS’s late night show? He talked about it a little, said he was Sandman and Topher was Venom.

yep, it was on
Tavis Smiley's show, he said Topher was playing Venom, but that's it.

in Virginia and talk to him on the phone a couple of times to get approved by him to do the movie.

Tavis: “Spiderman III,” you're introducing a villain from the what, fourth?

Church: From the fourth issue.

Tavis: From the fourth issue.

Church: Yeah, the Sandman.

Tavis: So not before seen in this series as yet.

Church: No, no, no. No.

Tavis: Yeah.

Church: No, in the first movie, there was only one, and then in the second movie, there was Alfred Molina’s character, Doc Ock. And in this one, there’s myself and then Topher Grace is playing the role of Venom. So there’s actually two in this movie.

Tavis: Yeah. So AMC is a great network, I love AMC. But there’s a big difference between AMC and, like, “Spiderman III.” (Laughs) Like, major blockbuster here.

Church: Right.

Tavis: Potentially.

Church: Well, between “Sideways” and “Spiderman,” they asked me to do "Spiderman” in January of last year. I wasn’t really looking to do a miniseries, but the opportunity to work with Walter and with Robert Duvall in a western; I'd do a Victorian parlor drama with those guys. But the fact that they were doing a western, (laughs) it just, as you can imagine, it was exponentially more appealing to me.

Tavis: Yeah. (Laughs)

Church: Than doing a (unintelligible). (Laughs) But it just doesn’t happen in a career.

Does anyone got a clip or something? Gonna be pretty tough to know when they are showing it here in sweden..:S

He's kinda leading us to believe there is 2 villains when we know for a fact there's GG2, and a fourth uknwon villain.

What up, anyone whos still awake (its 3:30 am on the east coast) theyre re-airing the THC episode of conan, he talks alot about spidey and i know alot of people wanted it put on youtube so if anyone knows how its on now, i wish i knew how, anyway yeah THC re-airing on conan now

how he had to gain a bunch of muscle and that he cant clearly state the name of the villain hes playing but that it may or may not rhyme with "handman", the guy is hilarious
