Thor: Love and Thunder | Official News and Speculation Thread

This teaser really does look wonderful. I am the only person on planet earth that likes Branagh's first Thor movie the best out of the three. I just vibed with Branaugh's mythological tone and aesthetic more but Waititi's pulling me back in with this one. This looks like he's upped his game tremendously and I'm here for it!

And Portman looks absolutely perfect.

Count me as another who loves the first Thor movie even to this day. The score is Marvel’s best and I loved the approach to the characters and their world. Asgard actually felt like a godly place in the first movie. They tried to humanise it too much in TDW.

Once again I'm asking y'all to appreciate Natalie Portman's guns. :woo
She did the work.

Thor now has to attempt to emulate Portman to get himself back into shape at the beginning of this film.

What interest me the most is the "superheroing days are over" theme. Is like they did A LOT with Thor at this point and now is like they are "ok, what else can we do with this character? How do we move forward after so many battles and heroic stuff?".
This is the kind of stories that we don't get to see that often on the big screen. The evolution of a character after so many films and events. The character-driven stories are always the most interesting.

It’s in my top 3 MCU films. It’s magic

I wish I had more time on my hands right now to be commenting, posting images and gifs from the trailer but I’ve been so wrapped up in other very important stuff that I haven’t had much time available at all.

As soon as I have some time I’m gonna post some cool stuff. :cwink:

Looking forward to it, bud.

Hey, I'm on that island with you. The first Thor is still my favorite of the trilogy thus far, and a lot of that has to do with Kenneth Branagh's direction and the more Shakespearean tone and vibe he chose.

For the general audience, I can see how Taika Waititi's reinvention of the character helped reinvigorate audiences who weren't fans of Thor and Dark World, but I still hold that first Thor film in high regard.

I’m on the island with the three of you. The movie is pretty under appreciated along with the first Captain America, IMO.

Ill watch Ragnarok any day any time, but Thor 1 is definitely undervalued.

The scene between Loki and Odin in the vault is still some of the best acting in the whole MCU imo, and asgard looked beautiful

If thors hair was better, the new mexico town looked less fake, and the destroyer fight was like 3 minutes longer, it would be top tier

The first Thor film had some underwhelming moments like mud fighting, but it’s wrapped up a pretty enchanting package overall. That musical theme.

Anyways, for Love and Thunder, I’m glad to see that it looks like it will be very visually distinct from Ragnarok, and tonally perhaps a little more melancholic and endearing underneath the goofy and gaudy exterior

Is this the same cinematographer as Ragnarok? This looks visually very different from that.
