Thor: The Dark World Trailer Thread

What if instead of Thor yelling "Noooooo!" in the teaser is because Loki is killed and not Jane... A little bait and switch?

Idk, I think Jane may die

In the shot with Jane floating, Loki looks like he is bleeding in the eye area. Like they were ripped out.

Not sure about that.

But I love how much Loki is being viewed as Loki now, you can see it with Sif, and Volstagg. Reminds me of how other Asgardians react to Loki's presence in the comics.

Though, I would like there to be a bit of an intimidation factor as well.

Also, I think the shot where Jane slaps Loki looks really good. Natalie Portman is only like 5'4 5'5ish, but looking up at Loki, with Thor there, and Sif in the background, All three Asgardians in that shot Look huge, like Gods.

I think that's awesome

I don't see what everyone expected this trailer to be, it delivered everything a Thor trailer should.

They're from the same race, they're called Kronans. :)

Yeah, I really liked it that Thor's opponent at the end turned out to be a Kronan.

(But I guess I would have liked it even more if he turned out to be Ulik instead...)

If the scene was purely to show off Thor's badassery, then I'm glad it wasn't Ulik.

I only have one problem with the trailer (don't know if someone pointed it out already):

Loki took hits from Iron Man's repulsors, Thor's hammer and Hulk's fists.

So Jane slapping Loki should have absolutely NO effect on him!

And Jane should break her hand...

I caught that too, but there is still much we don't know about the plot.
he could be weakened, or she could've ate from a golden apple and be strengthened.

Unless his body weighs a lot, this doesn't show a decrease in durability. It's inertia, essentially isn't it? She slapped his face, and his face moved with her hand. It had no effect.

But it also wasn't like her slap sent him flying across the room. A slight head turn is about what you'd expect from a slap.

observations.. I'm disappointed that they revealed the Stone Man of Saturn only to have him be turned to pebbles-- I didn't need that spoiler. I really hope there is a giant foe to fight that doesn't last 3 seconds.

Do asgardian prison cells include toilets?

Why should they? Even SHIELD prison cells on Helicarriers don't. :cwink:

I still say his face shouldn't move at all.

If it does... than a strong human male (without superpowers) should be able to knock Loki or Thor off his feet (without injuring them of course). Do you usually see stuff like that in the comics?

That reminds me of one Smallville episode where Jonathan Kent was able to pull Clark away a few steps from a car accident in which Lana was involved - against his will! It was ridiculous.

This.

From the way posters have described it, you'd thought it threw across the room.

Just saw the trailer. The Thor trailers have always left me cold, starting with the Comic-Con trailer for the first film, but I must say, this was easily the most effective one to date. The Winter Soldier still tops my MCU anticipation list until Age of Ultron, but this one definitely looks more promising than the first installment to me.

Has the Jane slapping Loki scene become the new thing to gripe about? i swear it's gonna be a running gag unless it turns out that it makes sense in context when you actually...watch the damn movie.

Yeah I remember those days.

Physics of superheroes is something which shouldn't be discussed scientifically, of course...

In the comics, you see things like Superman, Thor or Hulk stopping a train which normally shouldn't work because, no matter how strong you are, if you don't have enough weight, the train will always push you away.

But nevertheless, somehow they can stop a train that way in the comics.

And if Asgardians, Kryptonians and gamma ray monsters can do that, it doesn't make any sense that a mortal woman can move the face of an Asgardian (or frost giant offspring) by slapping it.

Take off the nerd goggles for a bit and you'll easily see why Loki's head turning a bit after the slap makes perfect sense.

Well, the first time I saw it. Wasn't in the theater since a few weeks. The audience gave no noteworthy reactions, to none of the trailers. The people here are often quite reserved and stiff. Apart from fan screenings, there is party.

When I saw Wolverine in Germany a week ago, there were noteworthy reactions to the Thor trailer: "Cool!" "Hammer!" "Wahnsinn!":cwink:

Cool, the people in your hometown seems to be more interested. There's still hope!:cwink:

I have still to explain to the folks around me, who the Avengers or Thor are. :csad:

Yes.

Oh. My. Zod.

People are SERIOUSLY arguing about the physics of a SLAP IN THE FACE?!

I just....I can't even.

The trailer was pretty cool. Thor was my favorite phase 1 movie besides Avengers and I'm glad to see this one looks just as good.

Yeah I remember those days.
That's why I don't tend to stick around the Thor boards during these "hype" periods - no desire to be a constant buzzkill. So it's nice to be able to come in with some positivity this time, haha.

I was indifferent to Thor (similar to Wolverine) but this trailer certainly piqued my interest. I'll probaby see this opening weekend.

Great trailer.

My favorite parts were

- Everybody unsure about having Loki on the team
- More Sif and Warriors 3
- More of Asgard and the other realm where they fight
- How they make it seem like Earth will just have a 10 minute scene at most and then the rest is all Asgard and other realms
- Jane mentioning New York
