Thor: The Dark World Trailer Thread

Great trailer.

My favorite parts were

- Everybody unsure about having Loki on the team
- More Sif and Warriors 3
- More of Asgard and the other realm where they fight
- How they make it seem like Earth will just have a 10 minute scene at most and then the rest is all Asgard and other realms
- Jane mentioning New York
More like Warriors 1....that was one small thing I was bummed about with the trailer, unless they were in the background somewhere, we never saw Hogun or Fandral, we only saw (and heard) from Volstagg

Reminded me of the Troy movie when Achilles one-shots that champion and then yells "anyone else?"

Based on what was shown of Thor's powers in his battle with the Frost Giants, if Thor didn't have to worry about collateral damage, then he could take down nearly all of them with one might lightning strike to the ground.

I am a physical therapy intern and had to hide in the bathroom between patients for 3 minutes so I could watch the trailer at 9. Growing up is lame. :P I missed all the discussion this morning but thought the trailer was awesome. I loved the interactions between characters (Vostagg and Sif threaten Loki and he is all lol! was great) and playful dialogue contrasted with the darker overall tone of the film. I think the trailer did its job because I am even more excited about this movie than I was before today.

Really cool trailer. Already anticipating this film.

This movie was honestly NOT even on my radar after that first trailer but now I'm genuinely psyched- can't wait!

I really liked the 1st movie but like the 1st trailer for TDW, I just didn't find the 2nd trailer exciting.

To each their own, I guess, but I think the second trailer is simply amazing and way better than the first one.

I was underwhelmed by the teaser trailer. By that (before a pedant attacks) I mean even taking into account it was a teaser trailer, I wanted a bit more because I'm a selfish bugger.

While not as 'big' as MOS 3rd trailer (which was beyond epic), the first proper trailer to Thor TDW was great and reignited my excitement for it. Job done.

I still say his face shouldn't move at all.

If it does... than a strong human male (without superpowers) should be able to knock Loki or Thor off his feet (without injuring them of course). Do you usually see stuff like that in the comics?

That reminds me of one Smallville episode where Jonathan Kent was able to pull Clark away a few steps from a car accident in which Lana was involved - against his will! It was ridiculous.

Has the Jane slapping Loki scene become the new thing to gripe about? i swear it's gonna be a running gag unless it turns out that it makes sense in context when you actually...watch the damn movie.

It's no more out of place than that fisherman spearing Clark Kent on that fishing boat in MOS. I hope Jane's Hand hurts like hell after that smack. When you think about it Loki took Captain America's punches to the ribs and didn't even flinch. Maybe Loki is just playing along with the slap.

Exactly.

I agree. You can also react more to things when unprepared compared to when you're actually in a fight with someone. That, together with that superhero stories always have physics based in convenience, makes it a non-issue for me.

This looks incredible! I can't wait to see more of malekith and london. I have a feeling malekith is more of a beta villain until Loki stands revealed as the real mastermind.

Was that korg at the end? I'm so excited for the more grounded look. This feels more like a Thor film

Oh. My. Zod.

People are SERIOUSLY arguing about the physics of a SLAP IN THE FACE?!

I just....I can't even.

The trailer was pretty cool. Thor was my favorite phase 1 movie besides Avengers and I'm glad to see this one looks just as good.

Nerds. You just gotta laugh sometimes.

Thing i didn't like were all the fade to black in the begining of the trailer, one time is no big deal, but in the first half they used it some 6 times, i felt like i was closing my eyes.

I wonder if we'll get a third trailer...marvel seems to just like 2 and then a crap top of clips and spots

Physics of superheroes is something which shouldn't be discussed scientifically, of course...

In the comics, you see things like Superman, Thor or Hulk stopping a train which normally shouldn't work because, no matter how strong you are, if you don't have enough weight, the train will always push you away.

But nevertheless, somehow they can stop a train that way in the comics.

And if Asgardians, Kryptonians and gamma ray monsters can do that, it doesn't make any sense that a mortal woman can move the face of an Asgardian (or frost giant offspring) by slapping it.

Actually that only matters if they are stopping the train without touching the ground. If they use their superhero legs as "breaks" and an anchor in the ground the resistance will eventually slow the train.

Music used in the trailer.
