Thor: The Dark World Trailer Thread

Exactly, i remember when a teaser consisted of the logo...and nothing else. I tend to ignore those people because they are the ones that start complaining about marketing because the there isn't enough material out there to give them the whole movie before release date.

I remember the time when Terminator 3 was announced. The teaser was a black screen, then the Terminator skull showed up and the typical theme sounds. Coming soon...and over. The people went crazy in the theater and were happy.

I think we are lucky that we got the internet and we can watch a teaser or trailer as soon as it's been released.

London has been getting some major screen time as of late.
Probably because alot of these hollywood blockbusters are partly or all filmed at Pinewood/Shepperton/Leavsden around London and also it makes a change from seeing New York getting destroyed all the time.

People are spoilt rotten with trailers and teasers and tv spots and featurettes. I still remember going to the cinema having seen nothing but the advert on tv. It's one hell of an entitled generation, people want things to be exactly how they expect they don't want films to surprise to challenge anymore, but I digress...this was pretty good trailer, and coming from a guy who never liked the look of the trailers for the first film. I think I'm finally starting to come around this whole MCU thing.

Heck maybe even Cap will be good next year, they've only gone an attempted to adapt one of my favourite comic book stories by my favourite comic book writer.

It seems that every superhero has to despair since Nolan's Batman

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!!

These poor fanboys who think Nolan invented just about everything!!!

It's hilariously stupid!!

DAMN. This is gonna be one heck of a Fall/Winter film!

Now all we need is a good ASM2 trailer to wash the taste of that terrible first film our of our mouths then i think its safe to say we are firmly in a superhero movie quality boom period.

It has shown how international we've gotten in the past two decades. I can't image a tentpole taking place in London, even for a few scenes, in the 90's besides Bond. Obviously.

This would have been the perfect film to introduce Brian Braddock to the MCU....:csad:

I actually liked the darker, dirtier look of it compared to the happy glossiness of the first one. The trailer really didn't sell much in terms of big action, but as others have said, this was just to whet the appetite.

I honestly think Marvel has been great with their casting. I can't imagine anyone else other than RDJ as Iron Man and Hemsworth as Thor.

Kind of disappointed. So far looks fairly generic. It's not that it looks too dark but just not as interesting visually with what Kenneth Branagh gave in the first one. Hopefully this TV director can give something cinematic.

Wow really? I could not disagree more with you, but hey, it's just a teaser so we will see. :yay:

Looks interesting. Why is Loki wearing what looks like an ordinary modern-day earth top at the end of the trailer? They surely can't have the same fashions in Asgard as on earth? That's the kind of thing you'd expect Tom Hiddleston to be walking about with in the street on a casual day while relaxing.

Yeah, completely disagree with all of that. :P

But hey, to each their own. I think this may give IM3 a run for it's money in terms of epic storytelling.

This looks good visually, plus Brian Kirk has a lot of experience on TV, and he's not merely a "TV" director, just love how it's being used as an insult, hey DarkKnight, do you actually know what TV shows look like today? Cue Game Of Thrones, on which Kirk is a recurring director, or I don't know: House Of Cards, Breaking Bad, Hannibal, Boardwalk Empire, that kind of stuff.

About the trailer, I love Thor, I think it looks good here, but I'm not as excited as I am for IM3 or MOS, I need more, but yeah, this is a teaser trailer, so it does the job. Not a fan of London (is it?) being used in the movie, it just looks drab in the trailer, I got much more interested when they show Asgard and those big battles.

The trailer was good, not great or amazing (like Iron Man 3's teaser was) but good enough. This is my most hyped movie for Phase 2 and the teaser still managed to hype me up even more. I wish the teaser was maybe a little more fast-paced, as I dont know if it was just me but it seemed pretty slow, with the music i was expected it to be...more. I dont know just me probably haha. The Malekith bits and the Loki tease at the end was definately the best bits haha. (though I wasnt expect him to look like that AT ALL lol)

here is the trailer in case you couldn't see it on the homepage

Looks like a pretty normal medieval tunic to me. Fashion relies quite a lot on influences from what's already been created so it's not very strange that we see similarities.

Wow, the special effects are terrible. I like how Thor slams his hammer down in that one part and basically nothing happens.

Nice trailer. The film looks more interesting than I thought it would, to be honest.

You are aware that the vast majority of the VFX have yet to be added in post, right? As is the case for most teaser trailers.
