Thor: The Dark World Trailer Thread

London has been getting some major screen time as of late.

It has shown how international we've gotten in the past two decades. I can't image a tentpole taking place in London, even for a few scenes, in the 90's besides Bond. Obviously.

My point was, Superheros were being ran through the ringer before the Batfilms, it wasn't a Marvel DC thing.

yeah sorry I understood, I wasn't calling you out as making it a marvel-dc thing or trying to bring up those points myself.

CBM fans understand that but critics always seem to inflame the fanboys when new movies come out and start comparing the different films..

Peoples iz silly I tells ya

this shot has me worried for natalie's performance. maybe she never got over patty jenkins being let go and phoned in her scenes. hrmmm...
Have no context for the shot but I think she'll bring it.

Well, that didn't take long...

Excuse me, but I grew up with super heroes as shiny white knights. I don't need a hero who cries at least once during every movie. It's not that bad at all but for my an obvious development. That's all I wanted to say.

And PLEASE don't get me wrong, I love Nolan's Batman movies, I don't want to start a flame war here. It was a simple conclusion, only my opinion.

I remember there was an article with results of the top 5 or 10 anticipated movies this year from movie goers. Thor wasn't on it and some were quick to jump to conclusions, but honestly, that is because the average joe doesn't know that a Thor sequel is coming this year besides the hardcore fans. I'm sure after this teaser and future trailers, it will climb the list slowly. After all, the success of The Avengers probably created new fans of the series and will mostly likely check the upcoming Thor and Captain America movies compared to the lead up to the first Avengers.

And I love it. Love the look of England.

I was just taking the mickey.:woot:

So far I think Marvel has walked a good line. They've brought the heart, the humor, and the feels when necessary. I like my heroes to experience love, loss, joy, pain etc. And from what I've read about Malekith, you can't have him without some suffering. And Thor being a god or based on a god, well, it practically begs for tragedy once in a while.

Plus, I think I'd get bored if the characters didn't struggle once in a while, but I understand you want what you want, and I can't fault you for that. We al have our own expectations, and hopefully all of us can find something to like.

Looks so cheap...

Considering the film is still in post-production and that trailer doesn't have completed effects nor lighting I'm gonna suggest we all wait to pass final judgment.

The trailer was alright. Thor was my favorite MCU Phase 1 film but the trailer for Thor 2 didn't excite me at all. I have no idea why Thor is bringing Jane to his world, the trailer didn't show the purpose for bringing Jane to Asgard. Though, the last part with Loki was nice.

It's a teaser. The next trailer will deal with the story. This is just to...tease.

I think Thor wants to protect her and that works best if he takes her to Asgard. And for the reason you have to watch the movie. They won't reveal too much with the first trailer.

p.s. Marvolo beats me.

:woot: Ah ok no problem.

I agree with you on that. Marvel made a very good job so far, and the Iron Man movies were perfect in tone for me. But the IM3 trailers were also quite dark so I stated that the heros today aren't that glorious anymore.

I'm hyped! They are saving the juice for after Iron Man. The guy looks like Psycho-Man more than malekith though.

This was a good teaser, and what I like is that about it the most is that the scope looks huge. That's what the first film's problem was to me, it felt like it was holding back and it wasn't as epic as it could've been.

Dark World's going to rectify that. Oh yeah!!

Damn, that was twenty times more awesome than I thought it'd be.
I wasn't very excited about this movie before but I am now.

First film looked small in scale, this looks bigger. I had no idea this was coming out this year so was pleasantly surprised. Another one to add to my comic book movie collection :woot:.

It's barely coming out this year. The second to last month of the year.

Oh my! Great, great trailer. As if the wait for October wasn't hard enough already :D

This looks miles better than the first, it actually looks like a film made by a studio that actually has a billion dollar movie under their belt. My expectations for this one are still pretty low thanks to the first, but from the trailer alone this looks like the film i wanted with thor 1.

So far so good...seriously though, Natalie Portman needs to quit.

I think the trailer was really good and fortunately it didn't show too much despite being pretty long. The production looks clearly better than the first movie, despite that it's not finished yet, and it will certainly be significantly more epic. We also saw glimpses of how Thor will start to use more of his powers, which I'm really anticipating.

For the people that didn't think the trailer showed enough, you should have been around when teasers actually were teasers (and showed nothing whatsoever about the plot).

Exactly, i remember when a teaser consisted of the logo...and nothing else. I tend to ignore those people because they are the ones that start complaining about marketing because the there isn't enough material out there to give them the whole movie before release date.
