Thor's Alive!!

I doubt they'd ever push Thor like this, but it'd be cool if he was back at that power level and he was basically portrayed as the champion and protector of Earth-like classic Superman. What made the Norse Gods so different from the Greek Gods was that they actually cared about mortals and fought to protect them, and no one cared more about them than Thor.

Calling Thor sickening is always mean, so you deserved it. :p

Yeah, that'd be a great spin. I'm actually not against leaving Asgard in ruins and making Thor its only survivor. With no divine home left to turn to and more powerful than ever, Thor rededicates himself to protecting his adopted home Earth. That would be great.

I said the talk about him was sickening, not him.

I could go for it too, as much as I'd miss Asgard and all the awesome characters there.

If it is Donald Blake I wonder if that means the Donald Blake look alike we show at the end of Stormbreaker: The Saga of Beta Ray Bill (cane and all) is the one who borded that bus?

I thinks so. That was my first clue that he's coming back.

Kurosawa: I agree, I'd want Thor to be as powerful as he was at the end of his series. Full-on mastery of the Odinpower and rune magic. Make him less of an earthly superhero and more of a cosmic force. Of course, given the current climate of Marvel, with the focus sliding heavily onto street-level heroes, there's very little chance of that happening.
Actually, if Annihilation does well we might see the cosmics on a more...monthly basis. Some of my favorite Thor stories was when he was dealing with the cosmic side of Marvel (especially when he went up against the Celestial to save that planet), so I'd love for him to have a prominent role there.

So remember...buy Annihilation and support the cosmics.

I would be thrilled about this, especially if they stick with the whole asgard is gone and thor is the last of the norse gods thing

Actually if you look in BRB there was a blonde guy next to Simon's body who looks like Don too.

But given how it ended and Asgardian mythology shouldn't Thor create a whole new race of Nordic Gods just as Odin had when creating him?

In any case, i agree he should be uber powerful.

Well, part of the point of Oeming's "Ragnarok" story, I think, was to free future Thor writers from the mythology hanging over them for so long. They'd had several different Ragnaroks in the comics already, to the point where the comics really didn't make any sense whatsoever when compared to the mythology. Having those Ragnaroks as parts of some grand game by Those Who Sit Above in Shadow was a pretty brilliant move on Oeming's part, and it frees future Thor stories from having to conform to the myths as much as the earlier ones did.

As for Thor creating a new race of gods, while that would be cool, I guess, I'd prefer them to bring back the mainstays of the old Asgard, at the very least, if they're going to bring Asgardians back at all. That means Sif, Hogun, Fandral, Volstagg, Balder, Brunnhilde, Heimdall, Loki, Karnilla and the Norns, and maybe Thialfi. But it'd be a bit strange if Thor decided to create new gods, since the point of his destroying Asgard was to give the gods a final end and let them rest in peace. I think if they came back it'd have to be by the actions of someone other than Thor.

Don Blake was the real Thor when he was a good character.

Sorry .... Thor a good character ????? My dear friend what has come over you .... i leave a certain website for a month, and i find that you've been permanently banned and are now a fan of Thor ????? I fear G.S.'s rantings finally lead yu to the pint of insanity !!!! What happeneed to the Superman / Miracle man fanboy, who '****sipped' the works of Allan Moore and depised the workings of the moronic Chris Claremont ???????Its good to see you my friend !!!!!

I liked the balance between earthly and cosmic stories that Dan Jurgens had early into his Thor run.

Wasn't Miller going to bring Thor back like a year ago or something?....but went with Ultmate FF instead....I think I read some of his plans for Thor though...bring him back alot younger...like 19 or 20...

Yeah, and everything Millar said about his take sounded awful. I'm glad it never came to pass.

WHo was going to be the artist for it..Greg Land?...I like his art...

I think so. I don't remember exactly. I wouldn't mind Land on art, but I'd prefer if Millar stayed far, far away from Thor.

Land's art is the s^#t..I like Miller's work on Ultimates...I haven't read Red Son yet...but I heard that's really good...And Ult XM Return to Weapon X was cool....

Millar's work on The Ultimates and the fact that he's stated in interviews that he doesn't even like Thor are the primary reasons I want him to stay away from 616 Thor.
