TheCorpulent1 said:Marvel explained away all the inconsistencies by saying the myths got stuff wrong. One of the best ideas the Thor creators ever had, really. History's gotten mundane old mortal stuff wrong time and time again, after all, so it's no surprise the verbally transmitted myths of the ancient Norsemen got a few details about the gods wrong.
Thanks. I have a couple of Thor homages in there, too.
I was being sarcastic about the Simonson stuff. Whirlyspat wrote all of Thor's comics after he lost the Don Blake identity off as crappy, so I got sarcastic. Simonson's run is one of my favorites, along with Jurgens'. I liked the Thomas stuff, too, but I don't think it was as good as Simonson's run.
Having said that we have at least 4 Marvel origins of Asgard including Thomas's brilliant version of "The Ring".
