Thundercats movie (2010)

Another childhood cartoon that will be raped into live action to bomb in theatres. However, WormyT still makes some of the best fanmade trailers I have ever seen!

WormyT, you are awesome! I was checking the news, and found the thundercats trailer embedded in /film. You are getting better and better, and you used to be very good to begin with (I remember the spider-man 3 trailers, and the venom removed from AICN at sony's request :) )

Thank you Wormy. That was amazing!

thanks man!
Yeah I remember that. Hilarious at the time.

Yeah Rick Baker would do some good T'Cats make up effects, I thought that since he did Hellboy.
Hell yeah,
American Werewolf, MIB, Planet of the Apes, Nutty Professor.
Hes the best at Make up in my opinion.
I can't wait to see his Wolfman makeup.

:)

Awesome! So impressive! The idea of a Thundercats movie looks so awesome... but I had to watch it two or three times to get over the work you've achieved and how amazing it all looks!

AWESOME!

The rumored ThunderCats movie is supposed to be cgi last i read.

They gotta go live action. There hasn't really been a very successful CG movie with realistic humans besides Polar Express.

Funilly enough, I finally got round to watching Beowulf the other night;

In terms of realism, it's a mixed bag - for the most part, it's obviously CG animation (albeit well rendered/animated CG Animation) but there are a few shots were I was taken aback at just how close to photorealistic they got.

I even went as far as to show these selected shots to family and friends (not telling them it was CG) and asking them if they could notice anything. All of them watched and then just kinda gave me a blank look, often accompanied with a ''Can't notice anything - it's just a viking movie isnt it?'' response.

This was proof enough for me that the selected CG animation was fantastic - my friends and family (a.k.a. the general audience) couldnt even tell it wasn't live-action.

OMY F**ING GOD!!! THAT WAS INSANE!!:bow:

It's sad that talented people like yourself are sitting here on the internet instead of out there in Hollywood making movie magic
That was incredible, must have taken a year...

Considering Thundercats Comics is under DC's Vertigo line, we may get something. After V For Vendetta, this could be the next project. Also, considering WB has gone emo and wants everything to be dark after the DARK KNIGHT... something close to your version might still be made

Damn I'm optimistic

WormyT...

... that was amazing. I'm so thoroughly impressed right now. I'm not impressed by too many things I see on youtube/tv/theaters these days. I've grown jaded when it comes to things I've treasured as a child and watched it turn to Hollywood crap by studios just trying to turn a buck (Transformers mainly)... so I just want to let you know that you've not only captured the spirit of Thundercats but you've managed to flesh it out in that short trailer.

Respect.

You know I did start work on a JLA trailer last year but only got 2% into it. I did have an interesting Wonderwoman for that. Maybe I'll get back to it if WB decide not to make theirs.
I have about 2-3 more trailers (don't ask what )to get through before that.
:)

Look forward to whatever you come up with. :yay:

Epic F'ing lulz at the trailer.

Sorry, your computer skills are good(or at least they are to me since I don't have whatever programs you have)but that was cheeseball.

The real film could be an epic fail for two reasons.

1. They don't follow the cartoon and it just becomes Thundercats in name only.

2. They follow the cartoon too closely and we get something like that trailer.

While I appreciate your effort Wormy, I found that to be your most lacking fan trailer, though I did lmao at Garfield as Snarf. And were Wiley Kit/Kat the Spy Kids?

Hey, as long as I provided some laughs, thats cool. All my friends busted up laughing when Snarf appeared too.

Cheesy is probably an understatement. Its grown cat men running around screaming "Hoooo!".
Hardly Charles Dickens. :)

Thanks for watching.

Wow, Wormy is becoming a legend, you got some great talent. ;)

Although, yes, there is an actual Thundercats movie that's supposedly in the works (though it would be all CGI...darnit), this trailer is just a brilliant, hysterical, horrifying, and sublime mash up of tons of other movies, with some clever Photoshopping to boot. I caught clips from Troy, Stargate, The Chronicles of Riddick and Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

HOOOOOOO!!!!!!!

I never watched the show, I'm not a fan, and I don't know the characters beyond their names, but the trailer was mighty impressive.

It worries me now as to how cheesy the real movie could come off.. :p

You're entering a slippery slope, WormyT..

I expect a He-Man trailer in your list of upcoming projects, Wormy! :D

Wow just wow! How ****ing awesome was that dude!!!! Your the man Wormy for real! Mad props for that ****! God I want a Thundercats movie now. That was just amazing im like just straight flabbergasted.

Bravo to Wormy T. That was absolutely excellant. I was grinning from ear to ear as if this were an real movie. Yeah, I could tell which movies you got everything from but it didn't matter because it still felt exactly what an faithful Thundercats film should feel and look like. I was riveted. I strongly believe Thundercats should be live action and this proves it. WB is sitting on the next X-men franchise with this flick if done correctly. Forget about CGI, THAT is what this movie needs to be.

Outstanding and the best fanwork I think I've ever seen.

There doesn't seem to be any news on this besides God Of War concept artist Charlie Wen who's now working on it. Nothing in IMDB.
Is it still CG?

While we wait for more info, here's a fan trailer for a live action version I found staring Brad Pitt and Vin Diesel.

Watch in HD.
Hehehe, cool.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: if they can make the Urak-Hai & orcs from Lord of the Rings look good in live action, or Hellboy & Abe Sapien for that matter, then they should be able to bring the Thundercats to life via live action actors in prosthetic makeup. As Hellboy himself (Ron Perlman) once said, nothing can replace the human heart and what that generates in terms of a performance.
