Fantasy Ti West to direct A Christmas Carol | Johnny Depp to star

I think casting someone like Depp is a slap in the face to the themes of the story.

Ti West fans realizing Ti West is exactly who his films said he is. :funny:

Beyond the obvious grossness. Depp hasn't been able to act for well over a decade.

I think this is Depp's first actual big or at least noteworthy role since the trials?

Casting Johnny Depp in 2025 is like casting Jared Leto in anything...dumb.
Give me a Robert Eggers one without Depp and im hyped.

Depp as Scrooge is also obviously intentional meta-casting for a redemption narrative. Sickens me.

A redemption narrative that he hasn't earned, because instead of taking accountability for the harm he did to Amber, he turned his divorce into a culture war battle in the public eye and smeared her reputation. Him playing Scrooge is a mockery of the original story and its themes, because Depp has never shown any remorse for what he's done and has been nothing but enabled and rewarded for his bad behavior.

I'll be really irked if this causes Eggers' version to be put on ice.
