Have you ever watched the 90's version starring Ben Cross as Barnabas Collins?

Anyways, can definitely see Johnny Depp as Barnabas. I hope Burton doesn't screw this up because I'd love to see a good movie based from this series. Helena Bonham Carter would make an excellent Angelique Bouchard.
No more? He was surprisingly good and strong in Sweeney Todd and outside of his Jack Sparrow schtick has done Finding Neverland recently and has a Dillinger movie with Michael Mann coming out. Depp is a truly anamorphic actor. And him and Burton have had some great collaborations in the past (Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood and Sweeney Todd are right at the top).
And this is a very interesting character, here.
Yeah I just head about Alice in Wonderland...now THATs something im excited for. It can be really really awesome...I hope he starts working on that one ASAP!Alice in Wonderland is kind of different...more in the lines of Big Fish or Charlie and the Chocolate Factory...
Btw, wtf!? Hes doing frankenstein!
I know that seems like the perfect Tim Burton movie but I just don't want that. Frankenstein is my favorite book ever and Burton is a great director but i dont see it working unless he uses a Sleepy Hallow approach.
Out of context, that's a hilarious quote...He's doing Frankenweenie NOT Frankenstein.

Why? There hasn't been one good one yet...doing another Alice in Wonderland is like doing another Tarzan movie. it's overdone

The only thing Disney's AiW left out was the Duchess, and the sea lion dude at the end. But they did bring in the Tweedles from Through the Looking Glass.
However, I don't think Burton will change much of the story, if he does, I think he'd change things the way he did Sweeny Todd, which were very minuscule.
And random question, besides a few characters in Nightmare Before Christmas, has Burton done anything with vampires yet? I can't think of any movie he's done with vampire other than NBC
Ditto.Johnny Depp as a Vampire? I'm so there
Depp: 'Dark Shadows is happening'
Johnny Depp has confirmed that the movie Dark Shadows should begin filming next year.
The Public Enemies star said that he and Tim Burton will collaborate again for the big screen adaptation of the supernatural-based '60s soap opera, which ran on ABC from 1966 to 1971.
He told Collider: "Dark Shadows is happening. Tim is working on Alice In Wonderland which is obviously quite a large piece of work there.
"So when Tim is done with Alice and we get the script, which is very, very close, in order we’ll probably attack it next year."
Depp described playing vampire Barnabas Collins is "a lifelong dream", saying: "It’s exciting, very exciting... I loved the show when I was a kid. I was obsessed with Barnabas Collins. I have photographs of me holding Barnabas Collins posters when I was five or six."
Dark Shadows will mark the eighth teaming between the actor and director, with latest collaboration Alice In Wonderland opening in cinemas on March 5, 2010.
