I would love to see Murphy in a Burton movie!

I just got the image in my head as Michael Keaton and Paul Reubens as vampires.

I like what I see!

That would be pure awesomeness !!!! (Burton & Murphy)

I´d also like to see Bale working with Burton, been thinking about tha lately, I cannot picture what it would be, but I´m very intrigued by that thought.

Burton says this will be his next, but I kinda doubt it. As the article mentioned, Depp has another Pirates movie that he's filming next year. But they forgot to mention the Lone Ranger which Disney plans on shooting after Pirates 4.

This is a good chance for Burton to direct something before Dark Shadows. Something without Depp.

Bale as a vampire? That'd be beyond awesome. He'd be literally terrifying.

I hope this ends up being actually scary.

Yeah, Burton needs to work with Keaton again. He needs a damn comeback!

why isn't casting Keaton in anything anymore? He casts Christopher Lee, his wife, and Depp ALL THE TIME.

To be fair, it's Johnny Depp who chose Tim Burton to direct this as it was Depp who bought the rights and will be a producer on the project. So, this might be the first time that Depp actually cast Burton as director.

I was also wondering what happened with Burton's feature length stop-motion Frankenweenie for Disney? Is that still happening? Is he merely producing it? Cause I thought that project was his next after Alice in Wonderland.

Now this, this will be a real vampire film.

I think he's still working on that. I haven't heard anything about it though but that was the same way it was a few years back when he did Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Corpse Bride back-to-back. We hardly heard anything about the latter.

Damn right!

Bale as a vampire would be the ultimate awesomeness, no doubt about that; but I was talking about Burton and Bale working together in any given project, I think that´d be delicious :woot:.

Dark Shadows in right in Burton and Depp's wheelhouse, this will be awesome. I just wanna see how the rest of the cast and crew shake out (most importantly cinematography and production design).

Stop-motion is a slow process. I'm sure he's working on it, but there's no news since there's nothing to show yet.

Also, those complaining about the Burton-Depp collaborations should acknowledge that Burton is an executive producer on 9 which doesn't feature Depp. So, that's good atleast.

I don't have an issue with Burton favouring the likes of Depp and Carter, he probably just likes the idea that when dealing with such a big cast, that he can hire Johnny/Helena and know what he's going to get from them. He just likes familiarty in making his films which is okay in my book.

Someday, just someday, I would love to see Burton do something again like Big Fish. Something that isn't gothic and dark. Knowing Burton he wouldn't but I would still be interested.

Yeah, i would like for him to stop making so many many ADAPTATIONS of well known properties. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, Planet of the Apes, Sleepy Hallow, etc. Big Fish I'll give a pass because it's not a well known novella but still..

And the movie is superior to the book. A rare case, but still...

Burton isn't as dark as people claim. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, the first half of Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Mars Attacks, and Big Fish are light-hearted. And, Beetlejuice, while being "dark" was a comedy, a black comedy, but a comedy nonetheless. And you can say something similar about Sleepy Hollow. That movie was basically an action-comedy disguised as an 18th century horror movie. And, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory wasn't really dark at all. Nor Corpse Bride. Or Nightmare Before Christmas for that matter. Like, Beetlejuice, those were black comedies. Batman, Batman Returns, Planet of the Apes, and Sweeney Todd are the only serious and actually dark movies he's made. And even those had their light-hearted moments.

Am I the only one who is a little afraid Burton and Depp are going to make Dark Shadows campier than it's supposed to be?
