She dissapeared for a while.

She made some poor choices. Golden Compass? Yikes.

Even her latest indie films aren't aren't talked about (like The Dreamers)

The Dreamers isn't a recent film. That came out before Casino Royale. It was essentially her claim to fame for many people - myself included.

Michelle Pfeiffer in Talks to Reteam With Tim Burton for 'Dark Shadows' (Exclusive)

Role would cast her opposite Johnny Depp in Warner Bros’ big-screen take on the 1960s gothic vampire TV soap opera.

Michelle Pfeiffer is in negotiations to reteam with Tim Burton for Dark Shadows, Warner Bros’ big-screen take on the 1960s gothic vampire TV soap opera starring Johnny Depp.

The movie has an April start and has been casting up, with Jackie Earle Haley, Eva Green and Bella Heatcote already on board.

Depp will portray Barnabas Collins, a self-loathing vampire living in a Maine manor who is searching for his lost love.

Pfeiffer would play Elizabeth Collins Stoddard, the reclusive matriarch of the Collins family which runs the Maine town. The character has not left the mansion since the disappearance of her husband a decade earlier.

Pfeiffer is finding herself very much in demand this new year. The actress is juggling a role in New Line’s all-star New Year’s Eve and is shooting Welcome to People, the directorial debut of scribe Alex Kurtzman.

The last time she worked with Burton was in 1992’s Batman Returns where she memorably played Catwoman.

Pfeiffer is repped by CAA and Management 360.

I want it to be excited. We'll see. The cast is shaping up good.

I don't think I like Tim Burton anymore to be honest... :/

What I meant was..The Dreamers was a film that got people's attention when it was released. But her recent indie movies have been lackluster.

Eva Green admits that she's kinda lazy when it comes to auditioning for movies. And if you've notice, many of her recent stuff are European based. If the production is shot over there, she'll go for it.

So Dark Shadow is probably her first American/or more broad-based film in a while.

Burton has been "PHONING IN" his skills for the past decade and a half. It's hard for me to get excited too. What's frustrating is that the guy is a smart and creative dude.

And he keeps casting Depp and his girlfriend Bonham-Carter in his films, regardless how miscast they are. But other than that, Dark Shadows has a cast to die for. Pfeiffer, Green, Haley plus Burton's mainstays? I'm there.

I thought Depp was terrible in 'Charlie and Chocolate Factory' and 'Alice in Wonderland'.

Sometimes I think I am the only person left on the planet who enjoys just about everything Tim Burton. Including Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter.

I loved Charlie and Alice and Wonderland, and everything else from Burton over the past 10 years (with the exception of Planet of the Apes). Maybe i'm a sucker for bad movies. :p

Maybe you are. MAYBE YOU ARE.

His movies aren't bad - bad, they just lack the creative magic and fun of his older films. It feels like they're..just paychecks. And then I'm reminded how good of an artist Burton is with his art books and galleries (like the one in LA last year). SO it makes me sad that he can do much better.

I do agree, Burton could do so much better. So much. Instead of just rehashing old stories. Tim Burton's older films are better. The two Batmans come to mind, Edward Scissorhands and Bettlejuice. Corpse Bride had alot of creativity compared to alot of his more recent films IMO. I do miss the older Burton films.

Even though I think Terry Gilliam has past his peak as a director, I still admire him for his newer stuff because at least he's trying.

I think Burton is an acquired taste. I did enjoy Sweeney Todd and Alice in Wonderland, as well as Sleepy Hollow and Batman. For me, Batman Returns is Burton's most overrated film. Pfeiffer turned in a great performance, but it was no Batman film.

Having Pfeiffer in a Burton film again, plus newbies like Eva Green and Jackie E. Haley makes me salivate.

This sounds very interesting. I still love Burton, even though he's made some missteps, I still love the man's style. My mom was a fan of this show as a kid so she's very excited about this, and of course, excited that Depp is playing Barnabas.

I'm a sucker for monsters and the supernatural. So this mized with Burton and Depp could be great.

In Eva Green's defense she has gotten burned by Hollywood. While she is great in the full version of "Kingdom of Heaven"--which is the screenplay she signed onto play--the version most people saw (the theatrical cut) had removed half her scenes and truncated her character arc so the most crucial aspects are missing, thereby making her character rather perfunctory. That is why she refused to promote the movie (which couldn't have helped her career either). On the DVD commentary of the good version of KOH, Scott even apologizes to her for what happened with the studio and hopes that now that people can see her full performance that she feels less betrayed.

And then she signed onto a studio blockbuster ("The Golden Compass") that was supposed to be the next Lord of the Rings and turned out to be a bad movie that hurt her career. However, her turn in "Casino Royale" continues to keep her a hot commodity so that four years later when that "really good actress in that Daniel Craig Bond movie" gets cast in a movie it's news.

So, if Dark Shadows is a hit (and Tim Burton/Jonny Depp+vampires=$$$$), she should be in fine shape if she wishes to do more Hollywood movies in the future.

This IS going to be Intresting film.I have heard of Dark Shadows but never saw the original series. This Is pet project for Johnny Depp. And him and Tim Burton can be successful paring.Since Johnny got people to see him In Pirates of the caribean him and Burton don't have any trouble anymore working together. The sucess of Alice In Wonderland probally convinced studio to let them go forward with this.I am intrigued with Michelle Pfeiffer being In this.

I am one of few who actully liked Planet of the apes so I look forward to this. And can you blame Burton for always wanting to put Helena Bonham Carter In his films

I love Helena Bonham Carter. She's one of the more underrated actresses out there, and she seems like a great person to have a drink with. But even she said she'd prefer it if Burton stop hiring her for his upcoming projects, and let her work with other directors.

But I'm sure she doesn't mind the paycheck...

I really like the casting so far.

Aw man my favourite actress Michelle Pfeiffer  :hrt:

In a Tim Burton/Johnny Depp movie to boot. All Tim needs now is Michael Keaton for one hell of a cast.

This has great cast. And it will be nice to have Michelle Pfeiffer reteam with Tim Burton.
Batman Returns Is my favorate nonNolan batman film and Anne hatahway has tough shoes to fil with The dark Knight Rises.I also like Michelle being In film that will get a widerelease. She was one of my favorate things of Stardust

This sounds fantastic; I've been hoping Burton and Pfeiffer would reteam on something for awhile, she's superb in Batman Returns. I love the cast this movie's assembling. :tu:

I think Dark Shadows will be Tim Burton's return to the style of his older films, especially Sleepy Hollow.
