You guys are all insane and Socko and I are going to beat you down. Order of the Phoenix was the best adaption by far. It was the only time I didn't feel like I was watching a Sportscenter highlight reel of the damn book, the guys that made actually heard about that thing called pacing. And Helen Bonham Carter was the perfect Bellatrix for what little she played and Gary Oldman didn't go out like punk.

To be honest I try giving these Harry Potter movies a shot but I always end up confused. I have decided all the movies are, are a treat for the people who read the book. Not a movie for someone who hasn't read the book and just chooses to watch the movies.

I was upset by the dept. of mysteries more than anything. I didn't like their version....tis all.

I haven't read the books....but the movies are fun.

Uh-oh...looks like it's time for me to be off...gotta go pick up "The Man" (aka my fiance) from work.

But really? Is that NERD or just freak? "Nerd" implies some semblance of intelligence.

ok - no. I go to Comic Cons, I went to a renaissance fair once for extra credit in history, I've stood in line 3 hours early for Return of the King at midnight and I'll tell you that those places are a FAR FAR FAR cry from a Mensa gathering.

Well I will admit I have a certain bias, and I always try to find something wrong with it. Though in these recent movies I am actually trying to enjoy it but just there are holes that are only explained in the book that bother me.

One thing that bothered me is how there is this council that is putting Harry Potter on trial and non of them can read his mind to see why he used the magic. Then mind reading becomes the theme of the movie, eh..

Only because Voldemort and Harry have a special connection that is mentioned.

right... that's why I said some "semblance" of intelligence... academic smart doesn't always equal common sense smart (as in... don't dress up and throw tennis ball filled socks at your friends while yelling LIGHTNING BOLT! in a public place)

I believe the mind reading is only between Harry and No Nose....they share a special bond from all the attempted murder and what not.

I can see that point. My mom is an elementary school teach which is how I got into the books, she brought them home I picked one up to see what the hype was about. So I go see the movies with her and we enjoy them (didn't like HP4 so much though), but my dad has tagged along and he gets thoroughly annoyed.

And even though I go to the movies to see HP with my mom, I'm still:

The snape guy helps train Harry to block the mind reading by doing mind reading himself. Also Dumbledorf can do that pull memories out of his mind deal

I know I'm kinda late in the game to say this......but I'm not feelin the title of this lounge.

just thought i'd put that out there.
