Tim Story on Myspace?!

This is the biggest thing to make me happy about this movie. This is why I liked the first movie so much. It was the first movie in a long time, I felt comfortable taking my kids to, and they loved it.

I know the fanboys don't go for that stuff, they want all darkness and Sin City crap.

For me there's enough of that out there. The only Marvel films that have been made, that I've felt comfortable taking my kids to, are the Spider-man films and Fantastic Four.

As opposed to intellectual properties, you mean?

Oh... Ok. Nice to know these are the kids you're gearing them upon. Based on, you know, the comfortable factor that doesn't mind seeing violence, albeit 'cartoonised', fast paced editing, recycled themes and morals that are more wholesome but unfortunately more sugar coated than the most unhealthy cereal.

Not always about the darkness. It's about what gives it heart. Pixar has that in spades.

And besides, Spiderman and F4 have always been light hearted in tone, but they from time to time do have some dark elements to them, at least as far as the comics go. It isn't like they were light hearted in the first place because they wanted to be 'comfortable' for the frugal viewer.

That said, I don't have a problem with light hearted entities. As long as they have heart and some ounce of brain in them to know what makes for good narrative and characterisation. It's just the sugar coating that is the problem.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm only saying that it's nice to have movies that you can actually take kids to. Not every comic book movie has to be Sin City or V for Vendetta, but that's all the fanboys seem to want.

There's a new blurb for anyone who's interested. Here's the good part:

Trust me, Doom will be a bad ass and have some stuff closer to the comics in there. And there will be more Johnny and Ben antics and two big surprises that I'm sure everyone has been speculating about. I'll confirm a lot in the coming weeks.

So that's the first real confirmation since we've been hearing the SS talk that we're still getting Doom.

Where is that from?

After reading that blog....I DO NOT believe this is actually Tim Story, but in reality a "surrogate" as IM said earlier.....They made it a huge thing to keep Tim away from the internet, and I don't see them changing that now......bogus Tim Story MySpace, but could very well be good information from a Fox employee who takes care of this space....If Tim actually has time to do this....then he's NOT TAKING CARE OF BUSINESS WITH THE MOVIE....

Does that blog change a lot? There's a different message up there now. I have no doubt the source is someone close to the movie, if not Tim himself speaking through another as I said. This is a new trend to cross promote using the power of the internet, especially with films and TV shows like "Lost". It's a better source probably than Harry Knowles!:)

Agree.......excellent way to advertise, and get the correct information out there without editing, and changing by people with an agenda......smart idea.

I think it's him look at his friend list I think he's got his brother on there or some relative with the same last name. I sent a request to be one of his friends but I don't think he will accept becasue he just wants friends and family. Unlike the Powell one where that person accepted everyone's request.

Oh Tim, please let this be true...you will be making my ultimate geek dream come true to see Doom in all of his glory, with Latveria behind him and if he can have a major fight with Richards, if not physical, then one of wits, I can die a happy man...

Let Doom reign....for it is Doom's day!

LOL! Great point!

Did anyone follow the production diaries for King Kong? It was a great source of information, and it ensured people were getting information straight from Peter Jackson or his close associates.

I have to admit that, with the few comments I've been hearing from Jessica Alba, I've been getting a little nervous.

Getting some direct, periodic information from Tim Story or his administrative assistant should do a lot to ease my nerves. I already like what is posted on Myspace much more than what I've heard JA say.

Thank god some confirmation he's still in this new script. And if this was just some guy with Story's name Fox would have probably taken it down. I'm not saying it is Story. But those are more than likely his words.

Exactly my feelings. those Kong diaries were the best. Though my favorite will always be when Singer came over to direct while Jackson was sleeping:up:

That's impossible to say, you don't know and I don't know. I was skeptical too, but it's possible he could have posted this. There's only two messages up there so far, and it's not like they were lengthy, no more lengthy than your post or mine, and it probably only took me a minute to write this.

Other directors have made blogs, it's the in thing now, so saying that doing this means he's not taking care of the movie is rediculous. Although I'm sure his schedule is packed.

Exactly how is that impossible for me to think thats not Tim Story....."look I'm thinking it right at this moment..."......see not impossible at all.....WAIT....I just thought it again.....I just don't think thats Tim....not just because of time, but because they went to such lengths to keep him of the internet the first time around....I just don't see that happening....

Why do all of your posts start out so ..... I don't know.....harsh?:o

Well of course it could be Story himself. There's actually a bigger chance of that then it not. Regardless. the words themselves are probably Story's. it was probably set up to his specifications. But that doesn't mean he's the one managing it. Which is probably the case.

Very true....I do believe that the information is good information given by Fox and Story, or at least I have great hopes of that.....definitely...

What happened to the Tim story guy who once came to the boards???

Well that should be interesting....lol

Tim Story had the passion on the 1st one. Unfortunally he was stuck with an average story to direct from. Allthough he did a great job with what he was given. This time I believe we will see his imput into the script. They have made changes that on the surface look like lip service. However, I will think positive thoughts, that these changes are for a better movie. Change for the sake of change is hardly ever good.
