Tim Story - What title do you want?

Having a numeral after your film's title inevitably leads to the kind of ragging the Star Trek movies started getting after IV. In the comedian's handbook, it's on the same page as the Rolling Stones taking the stage using their walkers.

Trust me. Fantastic Four is getting ragged on enough title's aside...lol.

We usually just ask for the tickets, which means I would ask simply for Fantastic Four.

Thats what I do for most sequels unless the title is completely different....I didn't ask for the full POTC 2 title....I asked for Pirates 2 movie.

And these days you have sooooooooo many that simply order them online and pic up their tickets from the ticket machine, they don't ask anyone for it.

I think these days you want something simple (not because the audience is simple minded  ) but simply something that they remember and tells you what the movie is about. The movie is a sequel to the first movie. Fantastic Four II does that...when they go to get their tickets, they'll ask for the Fantastic Four movie...get their tickets and not think anymore about it.

Oh my god. Someone...who makes sense?? :) I mean personally I don't see why the title makes things so difficult. "I would like 2 tickets for Fantastic Four 2 please." Is that difficult?

No, that shortened nick-name is fine for the layman moviegoer. But we're not talking about that.

The focus here is what verbiage should be flashed those credits and all the POP for this film. This is very important since it could say a lot about the content of the film. Just like X-Men: The Last Stand was about raising the stakes, whatever title the next FF film receives could make a statement on the film's plot direction.

Spiderman 2, worked fine for Spiderman 2...and I'm sure Spiderman 3 will do great as well.

I couldn't even tell you what the actual title for POTC 2 is, and that was my most anticipated movie for Summer 2006.

I like the sound of it . . . but I don't know if it fits the film. If Doom's role and the general feel of the movie match that title, I'd be all for it.

Very good point. I can't recall who originally suggested FF:Doomsday but I posted that as my top pick over at tim's blog, but I agree with willie if Galactus is in FF3 then that title would fit best.

So Tim might want to save it. The only way it would fit is if Doom is the main villain. FF3 could then have this title FF:Worlds End or FF:Lunch (just kidding lol)

I am going for FF:Cosmic Wars myself

Oh yeah I forgot this movie is at Fox. :(

*throws cold water on Red*

Rise of the Silver Surfer doesn't sound too bad but i'm leaning more towards Next Chapter and Doomsday.
