I think it is vague but supposed to be rather soon.

I'd say a year because you need time for Spidey's good deeds to turn the city around him, and for him and MJ to get hot and heavy and steady for an engagement. Plus Peter needs to be kind of cocky.

Tobey Maguire said in Wizard that not much time has passed after Spider-Man 2. Also, I think they'll want to show Peter and MJ starting off on the road to their relationship.

Still getting used to being together and dealing with Peter's alter ego etc. So it's probably 5-8 months after Spider-Man 2.
