Titans (New Series) Official Thread

Whatever, DC sucks for marginalizing Aquaman and his supporting cast. :o

I was sort of thinking of getting this. And then the Special that came out this week killed any and all kinds of anticipation I had.

Damnit, Winick.

I don't know if it was actually that bad so much as it reaffirmed every single doubt I ever had about this endeavor.

Hawk has cosplay sex with Power Boy dressed up as Supergirl, if you're wondering.

And then it's the idea we get at the end; "Hey, you know all these interesting characters that could be really good and have been really good in the right hands? Well, screw 'em all. They suck 'cause I personally hate them." He just assembled this whole team to make them look like idiots and then possibly kill them off. It reeks of pretentiousness, of everything anyone has ever accused DC of being lately.

If writers don't like certain characters, then leave them the hell alone. Bringing them in just to sht on them for a whole issue is just so...so Bendis.

Well, that's what you get for expecting anything good from Winick and Churchill. I mean, really, it's Winick and Churchill.

Thats a good way to put it. Cant believe it happened. When New Teen titans started, I remember Cyborg saying to Speedy something like "Theres a lot of Titans out, we just have to find them." I was hoping he was gonna finally start training young heroes like I always thought he was going to, but so much for that.

Did the character Anima ever appear before this? Because the way she looked on the cover looked like the pop star at the beginning but when they showed the new team her hair was way different than the cover.

Anyway, Garth is a deal-breaker for me. I have no interest in the first generation of the Titans if they're gonna pretend Garth wasn't in that generation. Then DC wonders why they can't sell Aquaman comics--gee, maybe it's because every goddamn writer refuses to give Garth and Orin their respective dues by even bothering to include them with the teams they each helped found.
Doesn't help that, in a stubborn-punk attempt to make us all give up on wanting Orin back,
they ****in' killed the guy
. And where the hell IS Garth these days?

Yeah, but I think we can pretty solidly say that won't happen--none of it--in the actual series.

By the way, whatever else happened--I'm really happy about what happened to Power Boy. I actually had a little chuckle out loud, which is something I almost never do when I'm not with other people.

Last I saw Garth he was in Aquaman: Sword of Atlantis needing an apparatus to breath underwater. SOmething about the magic changing in the DCU

Yes, I do vaguely recall...

You know what? **** whoever thought of doing that to Garth.

Starfire isn't a 'classic' member...the ****. :o geekgasm away from my Donna. :o

That depends on what you call classic. The original members were Robin, Speedy, and Aqualad. So the continuity error isn't in that category. Starfire was in the Parez Wolfman area, which most people consider to be the definitive Teen Titans run.

Most of you who know me, know what a HUGE fan of the Teen Titans I am. So when I saw the "Next issue" box in Teen Titans East Special #1, I nearly fainted. Holy dear god, the return of the classic Titans team? HELL YES  :woot::woot::woot:

The only things missing are Roy and Garth... but who knows what's to come. Hippie Hunter, feel free to joygasm now.

Starfire gets her powers back,
Donna decides to stay on Earth
Garfield Quits the Doom Patrol
Cyborg survives Titans East
And Dick Survives Countdown.

Nice.

When did Starfire lose her powers?

When did Starfire lose her powers?

During That last outerspace crisis,....
She's currently causing Domestic Unrest in animalmans house,.. His Wife can barely stand such unrepentent Meat in her house.
She's there because she HAS lost her powers and says she needs a break from her friends the Titans.

(Yeah I said "meat" - starfire is a fanboys wetdream come true, a sexually active superheroine with a sausage fetish for Earth males.)

I hope they don't ruin Animal man with this.

I was going to ask why she's just hanging around at Animal Man's house, but then I remember that this probably takes place in Countdown to Adventure, which Beechen is writing. Beechen comics don't have to make sense. :o

I love the way people assume that someone's a **** because they wear revealing clothing. There are some cultures on Earth where nudity, or near nudity aren't all that big a deal, it's just us Westerners with our uptight Puritan ways. If I recall correctly, her outfit was pretty common on her planet. That being said, Starfire has always had an eyecandy aspect to her, but if you compare he to Wonderwoman who seemed to enjoy being tied up, and she doesn't seem so bad. Also she was pretty loyal to Robin/Nightwing when they were dating, and she never acted ****ty in the original Parez/Wolfman run, so any thing your attributing to her now is probably a case of character derailment.

so what wally's going to have his family, be on the justice league and be on the new titans. for gods sake. give him a healing factor and have him bone half of the dc female heroes and he's become there wolverine

Batman's been DC's Wolverine for far longer than Wally and no one seems to complain. He has two solo titles in which he's doing completely different things, he's on the JLA, he's in JLA Classified more often than not, he's now starring in Batman and the Outsiders, and he has a pretty high number of guest appearances in any given month to boot.

Meh,... Don't hate because I say she's seen as meat:

(So who dressed her unconcious behind and left her on top of the covers in an oversized t-shirt and underwear -w- socks? - Hopefully MRS Animalman.)

I'm not assuming ANYTHING. They have written her as being sexually available to every Earth male she finds attractive.

I get the Distinct impression that DC is trying to say that if Animal man wanted her,.. she'd be welcoming his attentions with open arms.

but hey,... no heat,.. I didn't call her a ****.

That "Fastest Man Alive" thing, makes him less appealing to women.
