What, are people supposed to have zero response to the pre-release reviews? Do you want us to say nothing?

That would be... ridiculous.
Read them, discuss them for all I care, but judging them? None of you have even seen the movie. How would you know it is better then other films?

What reviews? Hey buddy know something I don't know. Link to this review people are judging I would love to read it.
What is Anita18 posting then? Why are people complaining about star points?

Who is "judging the review"? People are simply having opinions on whats been said and highlighting certain facts. This happens for every movie its not like its anything new.
Facts? Opinions on stuff you haven't seen. Yes, this is the beginning. People act oblivious.

just wanna highlight... before SR coming out, the reviews were 100% positive... n reports saying all the pre-sale was sold out!!!

a deja vu? ;)

To be honest, I did enjoy SR first time watching it in the theaters... especially the plane rescue scene.. that's still classic and unbeatable in terms of excitement/realism... but the rest of the movie is pretty much 'boring'... but first time watching it, it was ok.. but upon reflection, you can find a lot of fault with it..

So, if you ask me, having SR is better than not having SR.. because the more superman the better for me... superman never gets old... i did try to go back and watch the Reeves superman movies and it feels really boring now...

I cant comment on her MoS 70 rating (which am ok with) since i have not watched it yet but surely STID was way better than Iron man 3. It has been the best summer movie i have seen so far.

Actually, this has been my point all along... men and women in general prefer different things in movies/books/magazines... women tend to like movies with more 'love' and 'romance'... thus, twilight... or, scary movies, that gives them their 'version of adrenalin rush'... men, like 'action'... and maybe some 'romance'... i am speaking in 'general' before anyone goes and say 'oh, but i am a woman and i like men stuff'...

So, in order for a movie to appeal to everyone.. it's not easy.. you need to truly understand the human psychii.. (both men/women, old/young, etc).. and no one does that better than James Cameron.. now, some of you may think, well his movies are not the best, his scripts are only so-so.. but then somehow, like magic, you're drawn to go watch it anyways... that's because he understands that you want better than yourself.. like steve jobs.. whenever he introduces something new, the consensus would be like 'nah, it's not going to be big.. won't like it, etc..', but then once you have it, you can't live without it.. that's pure genius..

And I think I have sort of cracked the magic code...

1. You need to tell a compelling love story.
2. You tell it with 'eye candy, special effects, and maybe lots of action'
3. All the while making the characters believable and you care about them...

In the end, it's the story, and the character... and then you slap in great spectacles...

Man, give it up. It's just one movie reviewer's opinion. Not everyone is going to completely fall head over heels with this film. Who cares whether or not one person's rating spoils the pot.

In the end, the only opinion that's going to matter is your own.

I think we can't all forget, too, that some people are simply going to give it a lower score so that it draws attention to themselves.....which is all they're after.

In the end, it won't change the fact that despite it not yet being released "Man of Steel" is going to be THE single greatest cinematic achievement in all of human history and never will be surpassed no matter how hard people try.....right? Well....at least for right now it has that potential.

yep, and so it begins .. by this weekend there'll likely be some "chill time" being handed down by the mods ..

oh, and 'bout that 70% score .. she clearly sucks .. MoS is the bestestest movie i haven't seen .. :woot:

Facts like she is openly bias towards Marvel films, I remember reading an article she did once where she said it or something along those lines. Also I remember her saying she loved Twilight breaking dawn 2 to the point of rating it the eighth best film of 2012. Now with these known facts out there would you say her opinion holds a lot of weight? I am holding out for more in dept reviews before I get out my pitchfork but people shouldn't take her rating seriously.

Exactly. God, Les Mis was atrocious. Never Avengers is better than ZDT.

The madness ends when the 3 hypsters on this board see the movie before June 10th. Then, we will know peace.

Who sees it tomorrow!?

I was told a MOD Jamie would see it tomorrow also.

I just want an indication of whether we'll have to worry about reviewers or not. Like IM3 was set up for disaster because of the villain. I want to know there isn't anything like that to hold back MOS.

More like IM3 was setup to offend some fans. I wouldn't classify over a billion dollars as a disaster.

I'm excited to read some reactions from fans on these boards, too. Judging by movies like IM3, we fans of the source material tend to be the toughest critics.

It is very, very intense. It deserves the PG-13. I'm still debating whether or not Toshi sees it.

On the one hand, it would be downright cruel not to let him see it, but it really is a next-level brutal compared to Marvel.
