No worries. I love to speculate and have fun as much as anybody. A good argument is good for the board too. t: Everyone agreeing isn't fun all the time. You are definitely entitled to an opinion. I agree with some of the others that there may be some form of trunks or replacement for the trunks...i.e. the gold bands. I just think they're not red.

I understand what you're saying in terms of it 'not being clear'...but just by comparison, you don't see a clear/vibrant red like you do with the cape and shield under the same direct lighting. You see what looks to be some gold-ish accents and the same blue-ish tones of the rest of the suit...so it only stands to reason that there is no red, hence, no red trunks. That's what we can gather from what we see...but to think that there is some shade of red used down there that's completely unlike any of the red on the rest of the costume is an even farther reach of speculation, really....and, understandably to some degree, fueled by a hope that there will still be red trunks. But it really doesn't look like there will be.

It's really about comparison...in particular...there is direct sunlight on his shoulders/torso, and a patch of direct light on his midsection. The same light reflects a vibrant red from his cape and shield,...but we don't see a trace of that on the midsection where we would see at least a strip of red if there were red trunks. So...unless the trunks are a very dull/dark shade of red completely different than that of the cape and shield....it only stands to reason that there are no red trunks.

Totally agree on that. There's something else besides the blue there but with the light reflection its hard to see.

Liking the suit from what we can see of it. I would have preferred the S shield on the cape but it doesn't bother me too much, as long as the colours of the suit look right. And from what I can make out, Cavill has the hair curl. Yay.

That's a good question, if you had to have one or the other. The S shield on the cape or the hair curl? Which is more important for the look of Superman?

God I wish people would stop bickering about trunks/no-trunks.
I've been a big supporter of the trunks, but ever since the first shot of Cavill was released I've felt that there were not gonna be trunks.
And despite what some arrogant people have been saying, it has not been entirely clear what the design of the trunks-area is going to be.
This set pic doesn't make anything any clearer to be honest. Again, it looks like red trunks are gone, but we still have very little idea what that area will look like.
I don't get why people are always trying to make out that they know how it's going to look regarding 'gold seams', 'darker blue material' etc.etc.
We just don't know yet.

That's what I meant. There's something else with a weird color and Im not sure what the heck it is. There's something else there besides the blue. What it is? I can't say.

I'm not sure it would be 'trunks', per se...but it looks to be some sort of gold-highlighted 'belt'-like pattern that gets wider as it wraps around the waist...which could work very well to break up that 'sea of plain blue' through the midsection. We know there's at least a buckle from the first released pic, so it's starting to make some sense in that respect.

Bad Supes...it's like looking at clouds formation.if you're looking at them long enough, you'll beginning to see patterns. Methinks you've been straining your eyes looking at that pic for too long...

From what i can see...no trunks!

But i don't wanna crush your hope, so let's just say there's still a slim possibility that he might be wearing a thong instead!
