other than the built in tornado damage, it doesnt look decayed to me..most small towns in America have the same sorta look ( unless a bill gates or donald trump happen to live there )

Exactly. I think Keyser Soze is referring to the GAP/roof missing in one of the buildings. Tornado or Zod/Sups/Military damage for sure.

:)

I wonder what jor-els attire will look like.

Personally I'm much more interested in ZOD's attire! :) I cannot WAIT to see what Sups will be up against! BadAZZ we can be assured, but man this is the costume I am most stoked about other then Cavills! :D

Russell's looking good. Guess all those workouts he keeps twittering about are working!

I hadn't heard about tornado damage. That makes sense I guess. My recession theory came from Nolan and Goyer have been talking about having this great idea for getting back to the core of the character. And Superman was originally in the historical context of the Depression in the 1930s.

Nah. This movie is set nowadays. You haven't heard about Tornado? Where have u been all month? There's tons of pics in the other thread that show how they're shooting this.

Look at this:

I've generaly stayed clear of the shooting thread. Been more focused on the Dark Knight Rises shooting. But conversation over there has gotten so depressing that I decided to try coming over here a bit more.

LOL! I have to say, that after many, many years of reading these forums without registering or (Obviously) posting, I have always LOVED your rational and common sense approach towards other forumers Mr Daniel :)

Several images of A large jet engine mounted to a truck were also taken. wind machine.

The new photos are great! I guess the scenes they were filming take place in modern day since there's Superman iconography all over Smallville. Or at the very least they're filming both flashbacks and modern day scenes...

I figured the Superman iconography on store fronts was just photos from the town where they're shooting rather than stuff from the actual set. Over in Pittsburgh, local shop windows are covered in Batman merchandise to celebrate the film being in town.

So apparently this picture was taken outside of the Batavia Library. My question is though, where in the world is the Batavia Library?

Here's what I've found on it.... http://www.batavia.lib.il.us/

I'm in Joliet IL (27 miles South of Chicago) only 40 min away from Plano IL, I am hoping to head down there (Plano) this weekend, but still living in IL my whole life never heard of Batavia Library.

Ah, yes...that makes sense too!

On Twitter, Russell was talking about biking as exercise while on location, maybe he has been biking around the Illinois suburbs. It certainly looks like it.

"Ah, yes...that makes sense too!"

Yeah, it says "Smallville, Plano, IL".

They built an entire town on Smallville my friend, an entire city block built just for this movie. Please go back to other threads and look at what is happening within Plano IL, it's really mind boggling to see what they have created just for this movie. :)

Are they done building in Plano?
I hope they post before-and-after shots at some point, because the change does look kinda crazy.

LOL some of your questions are very interesting! :) Yes, I am sure we can confirm they are done building in Plano, they have already started filming! Amy is kickin AZZ at the local 7-11 and the Millitary is about to arrive in 6 days :) Get ready for the explosions soon after :)

:)

So, what exactly are we seeing here? A tornado that affects Smallville and Lois Lane is reporting from the scene of the destruction or does it seem like it is Clark Kent growing up? If its Clark in the university and Lois Lane is visiting and meets him, that would probably make sense. After all, she is supposed to be an established reporter by the time that he starts working at the Daily Planet? Or could she be filming a completely unrelated scene that takes place in Metropolis but they are just using the 7-11 as if it were a 7-11 located in Metropolis? Anyone know what the rest of the set looks like close to that 7-11?

I expect a zod pic to be released anyday now...there is supposed to be a confrontation between he, the military, and superman in smallville ( if i'm not mistaken) so I think snyder will want to release an official pic of him before a fan snaps one.

I think there's a mixture of modern day Smallville and young Clark Smallville. In the early days we see a tornado, later on Zod and/or the military will battle with Superman in Smallville. It's not certain though.

The 7-11 looks to be part of the Smallville set. What Lois is doing there is uncertain. Even her scenes are conflicting because it was reported they were filming for the teaser that day, but then the guy who took the video said Amy was shooting for a scene in the movie. But she could be involved in the modern Smallville scenes.

Anyway, here are the areas around the 7-11, which show the other Smallville stores:
