I don't understand WB's gripe with that image. It is in no way an overly spoilery image of the suit, THE CROTCH IS STILL IN DARKNESS SO THE PURISTS DON'T GET UPSET.
There have been far more revealing images that have surfaced... WB works in mysterious ways.

We've seen released pics of WB clearly showing him not wearing the red underwear.WB not hiding nothing.The PURISTS can get lost, because he look good without the underwear.

I agree that was harsh, the purists are obviously welcome to stay and voice their opinion.

The complaints still are not going to change the suit in this upcoming film but I don't stop complaining just because things aren't going to change so who am I to judge?

It was an unrelease image that WB didn't want released yet.Simple.Purist?Everybody and they mama know he don't wear the red underwear in this movie.

The whole reason for this is the fact they are marketing this to the general public too, not just us convention folk. The GENERAL public that isn't searching the internet for new images, and who are unspoiled in their perception of the film...

The public really might have seen up to now only: teaser image last year, 2 trailers, and the handcuffs poster.

WB is a massive corporation with a lucrative product here and a strategic marketing plan. They will not stray from it no matter how many of US debate trunks, s-curls, how dark the blue is, or how there are not enough promo images.

We may be ahead of the general public, but WB's got everyone by the nads and that's how the business will always go. Such is fandom!

WB is clearly just slowly unveiling the character through the marketing. Less shadowed areas in every new pic. It's the same deal all the time with these kinds of movies. They don't cave in to the few who are spoiling things for themselves (us) lol. That's all I was trying to say

i think what they're doing is a great job... when you compare this to the last movie they made (this is not a "bash SR" post), the marketing campaign for this movie is astoundingly good. everything aside, they are controlling their marketing very good. they did a very good job with the teaser- they didnt try to create something that it's not, and the theatrical trailer was handled very well- they didnt go overboard and try to show all the glory shots in one blow.

I am very much impressed at the marketing... now, i dont have cable, so i can only go by what i see over the internet

Anyway, I never got why people cared if they were hiding the crouch area or not. He's not going to have the red trunks in the film so there is no hiding that.

At the end of it all, the name "Christopher Nolan" and the words "The Dark Knight Trilogy" may do more to market this film to the public than whatever pictures of the suit there will be, no matter how it looks.
