A lot of people believe that the MOS suit is the best live action superhero costume ever. What about this?

Cosplay? :o

It looks weak in my honest opinion.

Revised one for ASM2. And yea, it looks great. Should look even better on film.

It's amazing how close it is to the Raimi costume. In ASM I thought the new designers did an Amazing? job coming up with a look, that while superficially to the untrained eye looks no different than what had gone before, was actually it's own animal. The Raimi costume was brilliant, so you won't hear me complain if they go back to that look, (with some mods I see) but is anyone else curious as to why they are doing this?
Anyhow, The Raimi Costume did set the bar pretty high for every subsequent Superhero movie. MOS costume is right there with it though. I thought at one point the rumor was that the same guy who did Spider Man did MOS.

Just to add, the Bat suit in TDKR looked spectacular in a lot of shots. Not sure why it looks better than in TDK, but to my eyes it does. While it isn't taken literally from the comics, it is still a fine effort for a movie costume.

^ I like the Raimi Spidey-Suits/First Avenger CA suit/Man of Steel suit. Is that too much of a cop-out answer? :D

From what I understand, the TDKR cowlmet was remolded to better fit Bale's head shape, and the neck-piece was thickened out a bit.

Cap's suit in TFA was really excellent, but in The Avengers, although I liked what they were tryng to do, they couldn't quite pull the cowl off - Although Cap did a lot lol. Perhaps they were afraid to have the little wings in relief because they look silly to some and copped out. For me it was somewhere between a TV show and Movie effort as far as costumes go. I hope they tweak it for Winter Soldier, and agree with those that said the texture on his arms should look something like the MOS costume.

Well whatever they did worked. I thought the neck was thicker/fuller! The stuff they shot in L.A. when Batman comes back the first night the costume looked breathtaking. Especially when he looks up at the helicopter as the cops have him surrounded. The lighting in those scenes was brilliant as well, and in full blown IMAX I came to 100% love and appreciate that suit for the first time. Damn, now I want to put TDKR Blu-Ray disc in the player lol!

I'm 50/50 on the newest poster. It's a new pose for them, which is good. But I don't think it's the most visually interesting of images. A red blur with two arms sticking up.

Personally, the ASM-2 and MOS suits are the best of their respective franchises up to this point.

Will WB please just release these pics in HQ already :csad:

Maybe the clothes hide it really well, but Cavill doesn't seem particularly big outside the oil rig clips and pics they've shown so far, and the Superman suit seems to have some padding. Muscles don't show through fabric like that in such detail. They're going to claim over and over again that he's the real deal but they're trying to sell us a movie. How do we know they aren't padding the hell out of the suit? How do we know he didn't buff up just for those shirtless scenes?

That is not how it works.

I dunno. I can understand past criticism of the curl based on Reeve and Routh's hairstyles as Superman. Both looked like extremely artificial hair helmets created using an excessive amount of product.

You know what's kind of funny? Reeve's hairstyle best exemplified Superman's look in the comics when he portrayed a dark/evil version of the character in the third feature film. It's more loose and natural looking in those scenes. See for yourself here:

Hilarious. Every time, every single time a new picture is released, a doctored version with more saturation inevitably follows. Which begs the question of exactly how much are people really liking the color of the suit.

wasn't sure if someone commented on your post (had work all day) but wanted to defend the manip. this particular picture is taken from a scan of the picture, so it isn't so much that the color is bad, it's just a bit more clearer. i must say that there seems to be a lot less manips of the superman pictures released for man of steel opposed to when superman returns came out. just sayin. superman returns it seemed like every picture was maniped. personally, i love the suit but just don't like the lines that connect the circle part of the suit. just my opinion though.

I'm shocked people are having a discussion about what they believe to be the best movie suits and no one has brought up Iron Man. Talk about getting it perfect. That's just one of the many reasons the first Iron Man movie worked so well.

The mark III is amazing no doubt, but I sense that we are talking about fabric based costumes, which are tougher to sustain faithfulness while moving into the 3rd dimension.

that will go to spiderman then imo

his classic look still looks great on film

His classic look cannot be beat. The makers of ASM finally realized this by changing it back to the classic look. What's even better is that they've actually improved on the already near perfect Raimi suit. They've fixed the eyes. Now it looks as perfect as a comic book costume gets.

it's really not that they "came to their senses". this was always supposed to be a new trilogy and from interviews that i read, it seemed like the plan was always to have him start out in the first one and gravitate towards the more traditional costume. they wanted the first one to kind of steer clear from the raimi and bring in new fans and then once they were hooked, go back to the original. the comic book fans were going to see the movie regardless. but i digress, this isn't the spiderman forum lol
