Wait till the Wal-Mart promo really kickstarts on May 18th...I think that's when you will see some really awesome posters coming out especially from Wal-Mart. And who knows, maybe Wal-Mart will be the biggest selling factor starting in the next few days. I can't say one way or another but everyone I've talked to at Wal-Mart tells me that their promotion is going to be HUGE!
You're missing my point..WB promotes MoS in the world with the posters that they release..not WalMart..Here's a quick job I made..What's the most eye catching? Walmart one..But that won't happen..Because of my point..

Walmart campaing will be HUGE, I'm not questioning this..but for example, here ( I live in Italy ) the poster on the right won't arrive..anywhere..and now, if I may, that's the problem with WB..they've made a wrong choice leaving ****** posters for the biggest marketing side..

i actually think the WB/Wal-Mart marketing campaign might turn out to be a stroke of genius .. all those millions of WM customers being exposed to merchandise & MoS trailers (#3) playing all the time on large TV screens .. time will tell

that's what I'm thinking....and Wal-Mart being a HUGE multi-national corporation with billions of customers. They have the trailer playing on the TVs in electronics and they have tons of merchandise coming on the 18th. I think this is probably the smartest move WB has made...especially in selling tickets for an advanced screening!

It is a great plan domestically, but Denish does have a point. Other than a few big countries, Walmart's international presence is nowhere nearly as strong as it is in North America. Furthermore, it is not even clear to what extent the tie-in campaign is operating in Walmart's foreign branches. I'm Canadian, and we are probably as close as possible to the US in terms of Walmart's saturation of the market, but we are not even getting the advance screenings promotion. Whereas the Walmart campaign may be a big bang in the US, it could be a whimper in other countries depending on rights/coordination with other businesses like theater chains.

I would go with the one on the left...it looks much better than the cover of the official movie guide...that cape looks like crap. Looks like my 11 year old cousin colored it on

You should send your hiring request to WB..

The one on the right might be more eye catching, but the one on the left is the more visually pleasing and striking imo.

Well maybe it's my problem..I think that they have messed up their opportunity to cover pretty much every wall with good posters, but they decided to do that with unispired blurred lines, uhm..I mean, Superman's fast flying up to the sky..

I honestly didn't like the cover of the official movie guide. I agree with a lot of others here that they need to show more action stuff...they should have put something other than Superman hovering over destruction on the cover....especially with a ****** looking cape. The poster they just released would look just fine out and about in the world to promote the film and will do the job just fine

From a designers perspective.. Come on... The Walmart looks amateuristic on so many levels. A grey/blue desaturated debris stock photo beneath Superman. A very bright city scape on the background and a photo of Superman pasted in front of both.
The only thing is that the photo of Henry Cavill as Superman is cool and easy to spot for people because hey, that's Superman in the image!

It's dissapointing that there arent any posters of Man of Steel that made use of proper photos of HC as Superman (They must've done a photoshoot for official press images etc) with some badass photomanip's on the background that are eye-catching and fun to look at.

I don't know wich creative company is behind the posters although I've got a feeling it's only a few inhouse designers of Warner Bros it self instead of a hired design agency and 1 thing is for sure. They are slacking. But hey, they do save money this way.

That is what marketing is about..If you use the one on the left you risk to not even see that poster...that from a designer perspective, may have been done with paint..

No, Im not getting that vibe. It seems as if they are both amazed by each other and looking adoringly at each other. But if you're joking, I understand.

I'm pretty sure that if that poster was that huge on the side of a building I don't think you'd miss it...that's just crazy talk

If they're gonna change the suit, I hope they can do a lot better than that.

This is the only poster I don't really care for.

Well since its my opinion, I'm just saying I like the current comic book suit sans the collar. I'm not just stuck on the traditional suit with the trunks. We actually have quite a few variations of the suit.

Nu52: current
Nu52: jeans
Injustice
Mos
Smallville
Classic
Earth 2
Earth 1 (slightly different than classic but not much)

I like e variety:yay:

The promotion is excellent for us here in the states, but it might not help with the foreign folk.

I wouldn't say it's not going to help with the foreign folk...Wal-Mart is huge. Just wait before you jump and say it's not going to work. It hasn't even kicked in yet

What? All my responses were chopped liver...
And you :yay:

Walmart marketing isn't worldwide, or at least, it doesn't cover every wall..May work in US..but outside..the world will have s*it posters..

how can you be so sure of that?? Do you work for WB? Wal-Mart? I'm sure the Wal-Mart marketing is going to just fine abroad as well as it will in the States. Hell there are Wal-Mart stores in AFRICA for crying out loud and I'm sure they will do the same damn promoting as Wal-Mart in Florida, Missouri, and California. One Wal-Mart isn't going to do something different from the next. It's all the same in all stores

I'm talking about, uhm, you know, Germany, Spain, Italy, Russia, France, Ireland, Greece...Wal-mart coverage is ok, and their marketing will be huge..But they could have give to Walmart those official posters..

Wal-Mart owns Asda here in the UK, but that's about it. There aren't really any similarities, and as far as I can tell, Asda operates quite independently. I doubt it'll have much of an effect here in the UK if at all.

What I think he means is that he thinks the MOS posters that WB brought out recently are I guess.. ****? And that he actually likes the "posters" for MOS that are in the marketing campaign for Walmart.
Buttttt the thing is that Walmart is almost no where in Europe except for the UK so most of us Europeans won't see any of the Walmart marketing stuff

I don't think there are any Wal-Mart's in the UK. They own the supermarket chain Asda, that's about it.

Wal-mart could be big, yes, but where it exists..I didn't even knew that before MoS..
