Oh ok. Is that a digestible approach then?

Eh, it's comic books. Everything's digestible. :o

Seriously though, It is highly advanced alien technology. It's as believable as a Superman being able to fly, IMO. Probably moreso, actually.

Yeah, I know. Flying's kinda farfetched too. :cwink:

And yeah, CBs can get away with much whereas CBMs have to adapt it on their own terms and adapt it well.

I always think the comics stray into treacherous waters when they try to use cod-science to explain the seemingly magical nature of Superman. The notion that he flies by vibrating air around his body has always seemed weak, so too any attempt to explain why his cape doesn't make his shirt look bulky. Just leave it be: it is what it is, and we can accept the inexplicable if it helps in the creation of enjoyable fiction.

It reminds me of all the laboured efforts to remedy the Daleks inability to maneuver over stairs. How about we just don't show situations where they have to go up stairs?

I always wanted the first new Superman movie (which ended up being SR after failed start ups) to have a costume that grows. It just makes sense because that is a lot to wear under a suit. Nothing wrong with breaking some new ground imo. I've posted it many times but how cool would it be see the \S/ on his chest just closing up as he does the shirt rip? It is all about that symbol for Superman. Just do that in one scene so people know the suit is growing onto him so to speak.

...so that bulge everyone is so concerned with in the costume is really his cell phone?

Wouldn't it be odd if Superman had a really small package?

It looks so much better now that I see a proper picture of it. Totally Alex Ross. I love it!

That's beyond awesome! Cannot wait for Zack's Superman action. :D

not digging the black...

But it's not really black so why should it matter? We've seen the suit enough times to know that it's red, blue and yellow. You can't expect the suit to look brightly colored even when he's standing in the shadows.

I believe they have deliberately removed the yellow in order to preserve the feel of the image. The only yellow would be on the S and it being a Big Red S is attention enough.

i understand... still dont like it

Superman is my favorite superhero and the new poster is damn cool! I know there is gonna be a back-clash against the moody and serious feeling. But personally I don't mind that at all, I love grounded and dramatic and I think Superman can be the even more shining and important in that context.
