Well he did say that he believed when Superman flys it should always be a visual effect so I don't think Henry's done much wire work.
That`s a shame if correct.
Let's see the final result first.
Agreed. Not going to fret about it (too much)

It`s just that I love the wire work that was done for the Superman films with Christopher Reeve. I just don't believe there is a decent or rather realistic looking substitute for having your actor in a harness being flown around on a crane. Generally speaking, of course.

I gotta admit, I'm kind of bummed from hearing that. I would have loved it if they had tried to find new innovative ways to make wire work and flight sequences look more authentic, especially since the first Superman film with Reeve was such a breakthrough in that dept.

Tbh I can see why wire work doesn't look very natural. I just hope we're not over powered with the CGI like in Superman Returns. The one time the CG really worked for me in that film was when he was on the wing of the plane and they used Routh's head on a CG body but there were too many times where you saw Superman and he was completely CG. They also used it for some unnecessary moments like when Superman falls off New Krypton and that was a CG effect. I was like why? Just film your actor falling but I digress. I just hope for close ups they've used Cavill's head on the CG body. But as Gianakin said let's see the final result first.

i think those quotes are out of context. i bet they were still using Cavill for close ups.

I was hoping Snyder would use the same or similar rigs Mathew Vaughn used for X-men First Class. Those Banshee flight scenes looked really good.

Photos from the Man of Steel set in downtown Chicago. The crew was filming at Union Station a block from my office back in September 2011. I was able to walk through the set inside Union Station a few times, but security was extremely tight, so I didn’t get to take many photos. During one of my lunchtime walks, I met a few other fans and found out that I missed meeting Zack Snyder by about 5 minutes.

Everybody on krypton wear them wrist cuffs. And that's a big knife/sword.

They did mention that everyone on Krypton wears the superman suit. So everyone should be wearing those cuffs.

And I imagine that the sheath is longer then the actual knife. Which is normally the case.

She better not sleep with Superman and stab him in the back with that blade. :o

hahaha Not really what I was thinking but umm... yeah, I wouldn't put it past her.

The first time he flew, it looked good. The flight scenes with Angel looked horrible!

seeing Faora and Jor-El in Kryptonian armor, and Zod getting some kind of CGI armor, makes me kind of wonder what Superman would look like in a set of Kryptonian Armor.

I'm sure an action figure manufacturer will be happy to tell you.

Well, the Romans didn't know of the Americas, so that will be a neologism like "Americanus".

thanks for those pics, love how they wove in the truth and justice motto!

I wonder how you say "the American way" in Latin.
Originally, it was just “truth and justice.” Then “truth, tolerance and justice.” And also “truth, justice and freedom.” “The American way” part has appeared and disappeared - depending, I suppose, on the political climate.

:word:

I know. I was attempting to make a humorous reference to all the controversy over "the American way" being left off in Superman Returns.

If I was American, I would take it as a compliment that "freedom" is accepted as synonymous with "the American Way".

I was hoping Snyder would use the same or similar rigs Mathew Vaughn used for X-men First Class. Those Banshee flight scenes looked really good.
I disagree, unless you're talking about the first time he flew. But those "dogfights" at the end looked awful to me.
