TNT's Animal Kingdom

Ellen Barkin kills me. That smirk on her face completely disappearing the second J brings up Billy. Can't wait to find out more about all that.

There’s obviously more to the story about Smurf kicking Billy out.

This blows season 1 and 2 out of the water. This last episode was crazy intense.

Poor J, he goes from knowing he is expendable and hiring, the unknown to him, mercenary who killed uncle and maybe bio dad Baz to cover his back. To acting like abuela Smurf's person Secret Service Agent.

With his stupidest uncle towering over him J brings as much scary mofo as Pope does. So I guess Pope will be Lucy's Manchurian Candidate to get back at Smurf, rather than killing her eldest to avenge Marco.

Curious that they cut that "Don't let her convince you of things you know aren't true" line out of the actual episode. Logically, he could really only be saying it to Pope. That ending seemed to be ambiguous as to Pope/J's situation next season. Maybe they cut the line so it didn't give away that there might be an alliance forming.

So their trying to do a Godfather 2 type thing with Smurf this season.

Anybody still watching this because this season has been pretty damn great. Especially yesterday’s episodes.

Yep it's been great so far, and honestly IMO yesterday's episode had probably one of the most satisfying moments in this show's history. Mia and Tupi got exactly what they deserved.

Agreed. I was waiting for some twist that J didn’t kill Mia but nope they went for it and I’m glad they did.

J had to kill Mia as he couldn't trust her. I can't blame Mia for turning on J either since he did treat her like a servant/hoe.

Tupi was just one of those types of criminals that was going to get taken out at some point. A guy like that wasn't going to live to middle age.

So it wasn't a misdiagnosis like that Montana rancher. And here I thought they wrote themselves into a box rather than the plan to begin with.

Side note: a quick Google search just informed be that young Smurf is Vincent D'Onofrio's daughter.

And, slightly more unsettling, Sean Penn's girlfriend.

Yeah this weeks episode was crazy, and honestly I forgot that we still have another episode to go. The fate of Smurf didn't surprise me much considering how much they showed of her past this season. Ellen Barkin really killed it with her performance in that episode though. The actress who played younger Smurf was great too.

I guess I just hadn't put the names together, but according to Wikipedia, the guy Smurf was hooked up with in the flashbacks before she got together with Colin is Craig's father.

Oh wow. Didn’t we meet Craig’s dad in season 1 or 2 I think?

Great end to a great season. I honestly can’t wait to see where the show goes next.

I think Angela plus J make up a Smurf to guide Pope. With Smurf's saviour partner Pamela and her son coming after the Smurf legacy. Frankie as an older advisor for J. Smurf's ex hook ups, maybe Craig's real father looking at his grandson

Agreed this season was pretty great and going by how this one ended the next one could be even better. I am very interested to see where they go with this show next season.
