There's always the off-chance that a guy like del Toro or Diesel could be playing Thanos in addition to their castings as The Collector & Groot.

Especially since dialogue for both of those characters might be scarce, why not use one of those guys? I'm not saying it's likely or that Marvel is misleading us on purpose, but there is precedent in film before. John Rhys-Davies being the best, as he played Gimli on-screen & voiced Treebeard for LOTR.

Or, what I think, is that since it's such an important character, you know, THE Villain of the mcu, I don't think it would be a casual announcement. Maybe Thanos truely hasn't been cast yet, probably hasn't. Or MAYBE he has, I still firmly believe they are going to wait till as long as possible to announce it, it's what I would do. It's not just some random character, or a villain for the movie, this is the BIG BAD of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I still believe THAT is the reason we haven't heard nothing

to be honest, I was under the impression that we wouldn't get casting news, regarding Thanos, till 2014

If it's just a couple of small things, they could be animated in time...and they could keep the casting a secret that much longer.

What's there to animate? Just do a make-up like they did in the Avengers - not a problem...

He is a very busy man lately but id Like benedict cumberbatch for Thanos ..... dat voice! He is a bit thin but cgi and prosthetics can go a long way I think his face would actually look great with Thanos prosthetics. Btw do you all think we will hear Thanos speak in this?
