That's fine and all...if they had cast a 14/15 year old back in 2001. Tom Welling is 33. Erica Durance is turning 32 in June. So, if this show lasted till season 15 without Clark as Superman it would LOOK ridiculous.

It won't goto season 15. The producers said at last years comic con that they had 2 seasons worth of story left to tell. 1 being season 9 & 2 being season 10, meaning more likely than not this season will be the final season.

Shows rarely cast people as young as the people they are supposedly portraying particularly when they involve a collage or high school 'setting', Welling at the moment may be 33, but he still doesn't really look any older than about 28. Same with Durance, their characters are supposedly approx 23-25'ish. When Welling was cast he looked about 17/18 playing a 15 year old, when in actual fact he was about 23/24.

both Welling and Durance look younger right now than Reeves and Kidder did in the first movie so as far as I'm concerned, the casting on Smallville is perfect.

yup smallville has had some great and wonderful cast members from series regulars to guest stars through the yrs. Heres hoping with us now knowing season 10 is pretty much the end, we could get a few more noted guest stars in.
