World to those who think a Batman /Superman film would suck: watch this!

Not the end of story at all, that's what you should play off if you were the writer or director.

Ok you guys are driving me nuts. If anyone thinks a Batman/Superman film would suck, i dare you to watch Sandy Collera's Worlds Finest short film (you can find it at comics2film). Then if you can try to say it wouldnt work. Believe me with the right writers, director and production team it would rock not suck! Their universes can easily coexist. Oh and if it were me making it, id have them team up against a returning Ra's Al Ghul and a powerless General Zod (spun off Begins & Donner's Superman2),then having them clash over their morals and methods of crimefighting. Its easy when you put your mind to it.

Yeah good writing and serious handling of the franchise characters would be wonderful if this ever happened.

After they do about 3 movies each, thats some pretty good revenue. A teamup movie could even generate a stronger revenue than the individuals if each film franchaise builds up its own fanbase.

Agreed. But the director who takes up the BvS job, would have to be educated in both the Superman and Batman mythos, sit through with Singer, and Nolan with the plot, scenes, and the sets, while thinking up a new dimension to surprise the fans.

No matter the outcome of the my completed Batman vs Superman script, I will share it with those on The Hype.

The Worlds Finest as been a staple of comic books for a long time. It can work, if WB wants it to. It's stupid to say they cant be in the same universe, since in the comics Gotham and metropolis are vastly different as well. Same as in the animated series

I hope they don't make a Bat/Supes movie.

Ans Scooter, Bale is VASTLY overrated.

I am not sure why there are so many out there against this type of movie, it wouldn't necessarily be a Batman vs Superman movie, it would be more along the lines of World's Finest.

Batman is dark, gritty noir. Superman is not. End of story.

Um buddy theres supposed to be a contrast. STAS was lighthearted compared to the dark, seriousness of BTAS. BTAS felt like a totally different world at times.....Im sure there were loads of fans saying a crossover could never be done right...

But it was done right, it spawned into Batman/Superman and then The Justice League. I dont see people complaining that these series were made. Fans just tend to fear the worst, but it could work...in the hands of a great director.

The contrast between the two characters is what will make this great. Batman and Superman are like a duality, their very synched together. Theres alot of potential.

Depends. After 3 movies each, the Batman and Superman characters would have evolved and come into their own. Their worlds are going to change too, along with them. Consulting Singer and Nolan may not be a huge step, but its really not that different from Singer consulting Donner.

Being educated enough in the Batman/Superman mythos isnt a hard task though. I wasnt even into comics till last September, and after like 2 weeks I knew everything from all the origins to the intricacies of Crisis on Infinite Earths; except theyll get paid for learning all that.

Well said. That's the point to bring them together, to show that their differences could work together and make them stronger, and there are funny moments because of it.

And yes Batman's a dark hero but he doesn't always work alone does he?:) So for him to team up with others makes sense, he has had many sidekicks before , Robin, Batgirl, Nightwing, etc.

Plus sometimes you have to see Batman in another light. To take him out of Gotham and give him a bigger realm is fun, just to get him out of the house once in a while so to speak.:)

Just like with Avengers, I thought it was weird for Spidey to be on the team but then I thought of it in a new way, it's fun to do something different with him once in awhile, and actually Avengers brought me back to being a Spidey fan after being bored with him for awhile, just as JL the animated series brought me back to being a Batman fan again when it debuted.
