The Flash Tom Cavanaugh IS Harrison Wells/Eobard Thawne/Reverse-Flash

In the previous week's episode, Wells mentioned how, when you lose something, you'll do anything to get it back (paraphrase).

I initially thought this confirmed his identity as Zoom (lost his powers and needs Barry to create the speed force to regain them).

However, in last night's ep, Wells referenced his dead wife / partner. I believe Wells intends to use Barry to go back in time and save his wife, and he will stop at nothing--even murder--to achieve this goal.

So I don't think Wells is Zoom anymore. I believe Eddie's Zoom.

Anyway, just an idea.

That's not a bad idea and certainly makes sense, but it doesn't explain the knowledge Wells has of the future or how he knows that Barry's abilities allow him to go back in time.

Also, how did this young Eddie become Zoom? What is his motivation for being bad? Why kill Barry's mom if he isn't from the future?

Oh, I think Eddie is from the future and has come to the past to torment Barry, ala Flashpoint.

Also, in the spy pics, Zoom in costume seems to have Eddie's more athletic build.

In regards to Wells, perhaps his technology has given him the ability to look into the future (the newspaper) or he may very well be a time traveler (but not Zoom) who can't get to the point in history he wants without Flash's assistance for some reason (maybe the Crisis disrupts time; Wells needs the Crisis to occur so Wells can save his wife ....)

Just my thoughts.

I like that idea. The EPs suggested Wells isn't evil, just wants to achieve his goals no matter what. This would fit that.

T.O. Morrow! Man, if he is, then we'd better see Red Tornado at some point. That's one of DC's coolest and most underused characters.

That's not a bad call. I figured Wells' name was just a none-too-subtle reference to his time travelling shenanigans. Maybe it's also a hint that his real name is also time-related. That would be kind of neat.

Haha yeah his name is so stupid. It's not as bad as F.A. Schist though. Of course, we're talking about a character in a book called Man-Thing, so I guess they weren't too concerned about names back then.

On Eddie being the RF, there's nothing suspicious about him so far, he's even clueless regarding metahumans, so unless he suffers some form of multiple personality disorder with amnesia... another possibility is a future Eddie working with Wells. Maybe Harrison communicates with future Eddie about the present timeline when needed, and told him Joe West is a potential threat... zoom, RF pays Joe a visit.

You have to wonder why the Reverse Flash didn't just kill Joe (other than the obvious; Joe is a main character on the show). Makes me wonder if it is Eddie and even though he's evil, he does care somewhat for him even if he's not above threatening him. Or maybe he just realizes that if his girlfriend's dad is murdered, he probably won't be getting any action for a while.

No way Reverse Flash/Professor Zoom is Wells. Wells wouldn't be that dumb to put any more suspicion on him. Cause if I was Joe, I would heavily continue to suspect Wells after him being attacked so soon after their confrontation.

As do I, but the fact that so many people are satisfied with it is why the twist will still work. All they have to do is stack up a few more "Nah, it couldn't possibly be little old Eddie" blocks and even I may start to doubt it.

If that's the case, it would be bad writing cause there's nothing that says he's a psychopath, he really cares about Joe and Iris. There has to be more to it to be believable, otherwise is going to be a cheap trick just for shock value. We know Caitlin is supposed to be Killer Frost, she's really a good person, is not a ruse from her part, therefore, something must happen to make her go bad, unless they make this version a hero.

I just assumed the red streak we see in those scenes was the result of some of Zoom's costume being red. Interesting theory though that it could be a future version of Barry providing protection. But I think that Zoom took Barry to safety after killing his mother; Barry was never really in danger. It's all part of his plan to "make Barry a better hero."

Wells being Zoom/RF is way, waaay to obvious to be a setup for a huge reveal...

Considering we have a hint that Eddie's gonna propose to Iris in that Christmas episode, I think they might come up with something like the RF being Eddie and Iris' son from the future or something, who comes for some ******** reason to torment Barry, and in order to defeat him, Barry has to prevent Iris from marrying Eddie and confessing his love to her, thus making RF disappear from the timeline, but pisses off Eddie, who in turn gets to be the bad guy for the rest of the season...

It all sounds a bit corny, but I can see something like this happening on the show.

I like Eddie too. While I'm a bit of a purist and would definately prefer a Thawne Zoom over a Wells one, part of me will actually be gutted to see Eddie go bad.
