Well, I certainly hope not, MI:3 didn't meet opening day expectations, granted it made over $47 million, but Ice Age 2 made over $70 million its opening weekend and Cruise is supposed to Hollywoods heavy weight, I would say his off set antics have hurt him with the public, and that's not what Iron man needs, I would have been estatic if Cruise would have taken the role after Last Samauri and Collaterial, but not after Oprah.

Last I heard Tony Stark was Italian. He ain't Latino, especially with a name like Anthony Stark.

The Cruise rumors were really started by Cruise himself. He's publically expressed interest in playing this character before.

The link? There is absolutely NOTHING concrete in that article. What are the sources where is this coming from? Looks like bull**** to me.

This project is really just starting. I think its very well possible we won't even know who is playing Iron Man until 2007.

^ Jon will get the right actor. People are obviously ciruclating Vince Vaughns name around too but he'd have to lose some weight and I just don't think he has the looks. I'd rather see him as Jigsaw. Whoever he does choose though can't just be some personality which is what turned me off of Tom Cruise to begin with though he's far from the bottom of my list. Christian Bale or even Eric Bana would be awesome but they're tied up as heroe's already.

I hope Cruise doesn't get it. I've just grown tired of him and his antics. The man will drag down the movie and turn it into just a regular old Tom Cruise movie.

Vaughn isn't the right casting for Stark. You could get him to play a good heavy if you wanted to though.

Caviezel is the best choice really. He still comes off as an actor and not a movie star. And he always gives quality performances. He's got the appropriate look for Stark, and he has the versatility and presence necessary to pull off the heavy elements to the character.

1 He is WAY TOO expensive
2 Their is a growing backlash towards him and his promotion of his CULT
3 A lesser known actor would be good because the producers would save $$ that could be better spent on promoting and other film stuff!

Better choice then Leonardo Dicaprio, but I am not much of a Tom Cruise Fan these days either, they should just try a new name and hope for the best that it does great! I sure hope it does great, i have been waiting for some time now for this to happen.
