Tom Hooper to direct movie of Andrew Lloyd Webber's 'Cats'

Is it just me or do they kinda look like the Annoying Orange?

i know that this is stylized but they look so small? more like mice. Its like they wanted the standing humanoid cats to be the same height as a normal cat when its on its four legs.

The cats in Cats were never meant to look freaky. Why they looked acceptable on stage is because it looked like people in cat make up, just like when you see face painting or other movie makeup. They weren't just completely human faces.

I wish they just keep the same concept as the musical. They shouldn't be cat sized but just human sized. They've taken the concept too far. It's like if someone made a musical of Starlight Express and gave us actual trains with human faces on, instead of humans who look like they have train-inspired armour.

Cats the musical should look like people wearing cat-inspired costumes and makeup, not a freak show. Will we find them unconvincing as cats if they just looked like the stage makeup? Well, if people are asking that, then they've missed the point. Audiences will automatically accept and suspend disbelief even if it looked like the stage musical. It's the performances that people always went to see.

I swear The Guard just lives to go against to popular opinion and argue

Well this is like seeing the images of crash test dummy Doom for Fant4stic and saying he likes what they're doing with it. It sounds exactly like all the same kinds of rationalisations ass for Fant4stic when everyone else could see what a disaster it looked.

This trailer honestly disturbed me when I was watching it - the cats look grotesque, and frightening. I've seen people saying that they look sexualized, but I'm not even seeing that: these...creatures...just look gross. Their size is weird, first of all - they're so tiny compared to the furniture that they seem more like ferrets or something. They're just...icky.

I'm going to take solace in the fact that this can be a precursor to an actual ThunderCats movie.

I admit it looks better in some shots than others.

I have to admit... the prospect of a Cats movie that's just like the stage show (with traditional makeup) doesn't really interest me. But seeing a CGI horror like this? Hahaha yeah, this looks like the type of movie it would be fun to watch with a bunch of friends and take a drink every time something creeps you out.

James Corden looks like Mike Myers' Cat in the Hat.

And that should have been the point where they pulled the plug entirely. Whenever something reminds you of the Cat in the Hat movie, you know you done ****ed up.

Is it too late for them to redo it like Sonic Hedgehog was redone? Or is it too far along and would require a radical overhaul?

I suppose they couldn't get the actors back to refilm their scenes with costumes like the musical?

I just wanna know why Rebel Wilson’s cat has breasts but the other women and James Corden don’t. I’m so confused.

Especially when James Corden probably has man boobs too. :o

Is there anyone out there who legitimately likes this? It seems like the consensus is completely, unanimously against it.

When will Hollywood realize that cat people are just ****ing creepy no matter how you do it?

Somebody will just because of who's in it and who's directing.
