You found John Carter to be bad film?

Yeah. I really thought most of the movie just didn't work. Granted, it's a tough story to adapt, but I really thought it failed on a number of levels. First off, I thought Kitsch was so dull that he made the Carter character completely uninteresting. And if the lead is bad, that usually keeps the movie from being good. Second, so much of the movie just seemed poorly put together. Things that should have felt epic and amazing just came off awkward and silly. The books are odd stories, but they still feel grounded enough that I never found myself thinking "this is ridiculous" as I was reading them. Whereas in the movie, it was hard NOT to think that. There were a few bright spots... Lynn Collins made a good Dejah Thoris and an underutilized James Purefoy made the most out of a few scenes, but other than that, I didn't find much to like. It was actually pretty tough to get through.
