comedy actors go through their seasons of being funny and non funny...

eveyone has their time but i don't think there is one that has consistently made either good funny films or good non comedic films throughout their career.

Uh, Bill Murray. Even his newer, more dramatic roles have been mildly humorous. Could Bill Murray be the best on-screen comedian of all time???

YES!

Seriously, I ****ing love Murray.

I dont consider jason lee as a comedian, good stuf in some another movies of different genere, but as a comedian i think that he sucks.

That is because Lee isn't a comedian, he is an actor, that bases most of his work in comedy. Most of his comedic work is nothing short of brilliant (Mallrats, Chasing Amy, My name is Earl) some of it, is whatever (Stealing Harvard). He is first and foremost an actor though, and not always in comedy, for that I say he isn't the greatest comedic actor of our geneation, but he honest to go may have given the best comedic preforomance in the past 15 years, with Brodie, so he deserves to be on the list.

My favorites are Jim Carrey and Ben Stiller.

But Carrey became my #1, when I was only 6, so that is why I'll vote for him.

Jim Carrey rules my friend

I also love Ben Stiller too

Terry Gilliam is a genious without a doubt. All the monty phyton were genious. See the movies directed for Gilliam, great work. also, one of the brains for the monty phyton was gilliam.

Terry Gilliam is a good ass director, one of my favs, but to honestly say he is in the league as far as acting with most of the people in that list is a bit out there. Monty Pythons are funny, but after the about 5th time they get old

Dude, those guys in that list need to die , reborn and die and reborn and even with that, they wont be never in monty phyton league.

The monty phyton were revolutionary with their weird and marveolus humour, they broken many chains and opened many ways in a time and in a country when it was very difficult to do.

To compare those people with the Phyton is just like compare a simple angel with god.

Get off your old country high horse, what have any of them done since then? Monty Python's are funny, yes, but they get old after a while, Old School, Mallrats, Swingers, those movies don't get old, I know Nationalism is a good thing, I am proud of my country too, but if you where to make me choose between USA bread Bruce Willis, and Geoffery Rush as to who is the better actor, I am going to pick Geoffery Rush

Pal, open your eyes and see my post, im not praising them so much only for being british like me, they were the same good even if they would be ruskies or french or from marss.

To compare swingers or mallrats with things like monty phyton flying circus, life of brian, holly grial or meaning of like is just a joke, same the bruce willis-geofrey rush one.

And for the age thing, wait 40 years and if only one of those guys from that list or from those movies are so remembered and praised as the monty phyton are, we could talk about equal comparations.

Rob f***in Schneider is on that list but not Steve Carrell?! this poll is officially void. :down :o

Yeah, SNL is at an alltime low IMO.

OMG who are you telling? I haven't watched it in months.

The problem is Rob Schnieber might be one of the 4 or 5 unfunniest humans on the planet, where as Carrell is actually quite hilarious

They are already, we don't need to wait, Vince Vaughn is a more praised actor then MP are, Will Ferrelll is more popular then they ever where.

this is no opinion this is fact, Monty Python where basically a sophisticated Brokern Lizard, fantastic in their squad, but they made movies that are very forgettable after the 4th couple time you watch em. Where as movies like Swingers, and Old School, Vince Vaughn is hilarious because of how he ACTs, and how he delivers his lines, so those movies continue to get better with viewings because they are more the satire, and one liners

He's funny!!! He has some good lines!!!:cmad:

"You can do it" was funnier when I was in 4th grade

He is good in two movies, Surf Ninjas, and Home Alone 2, besides that whatever.

And also, you base justification on who should be on a list called "Top Comedic Actor" by who has some funny lines?

I'm sure I could find a couple movies where Kevin Conster has some "funny lines" in it, and he wouldn't go on Best anything

It's quite sad when the best film on your filmography is without question Home Alone 2.
