Top Ten Most Anticipated Comic Book Movies

1. Spider-Man 3

There is one reason why every fanboy on earth cannot wait until May 4, 2007: Venom. Despite director Sam Raimi not initially being a fan of the character, Spidey fans will finally get to see the popular villain on the big-screen. Venom is being brought to life by actor Topher Grace, who plays Eddie Brock, a Daily Bugle employee and Peter Parker's (Tobey Maguire) doppelganger. The highly anticipated sequel also brings in another hugely popular character from the comics, Gwen Stacy (Bryce Dallas Howard), as well as Sandman (Thomas Haden Church) and a vengeful Harry Osborn (James Franco) as secondary villains. The big question about Spider-Man 3 isn't how many box office records it will undoubtedly shatter but which character(s) get killed off. Judging by the intense but crowd-pleasing trailer, Spider-Man 3 will be the darkest and most dangerous entry yet in the blockbuster franchise.

Spider-Man 3 only. Batman 2 and Iron Man are too far away to get anticipated and FF2 and "The INcredible Hulk" are going to be crap, so SM3 all the way then.

More positive buzz

Personally, I find that a little disgruntling that the most prominant reason that this is the most anticipated superhero movie is because of Venom. I've said it before and I'll say it again, he is a truly kick ass character, however the story that we have come along with in which Harry slowly but surely follows in his father's foot steps (sort've) is an incredible concept and should be a major factor which captivates the audience. The introduction of Sandman as well is an intense portion of this film and personally, I am looking forward to his appearance the most. Regardless, I too am looking forward to seeing Venom as well as the movie in general but it should be known that there is just more than an alien based character to which this movie should be anticipated for. Either way, I can say that not only will this movie go down as the most anticipated superhero film of all time, but I know that it will go down as the all time best superhero film as well.

Transformers-poster-2.jpg

1. TRANSFORMERS-I have gotten really into Transformers and I honestly can't wait for two giants robots kicking each otheres metal asses.

2. SPIDER-MAN 3-Man oh man everything about this movie I'm loving, expect non-Goblin Harry thats why I would put it after Transformers. The whole Harry story was built for two movies and it's kinda a let for me not having him as any sort of Goblin.

3. THE DARK KNIGHT-This could have been #1 for me but I have not seen any pictures or trailers yet so I'll have to wait and see. But I'm glad Ledger is the Joker.

4. GHOST RIDER-Loved the teaser. Everything looks badass in it and I like the Cageman.

5. FANTASTIC FOUR AND THE SILVER SURFER-I loved the first FF movie. I ammit I loved it and I can't wait for the sequal.

6. THE INCREDIBLE HULK-This is what I've been waiting for a smash'em up Hulk movie. I want him to be pissed and creepy.....Old Hulk movies scared me.
7. IRON MAN-Kick ass armour...NUFF SAID!!!

8. TMNT-The teaser was sweet.

9. WOLVERINE-Wasn't X2 a Wolverine movie? Anyway just want Logan to go ape ****.

10. MAGNETO-Always kicked ass in the films. Not really into these spin-offs but hopefully they will work.

Transformers are pretty far up there, but I have to agree with fingers.. I don't think it would be more anticipated than Spider-man 3. Then again, that seems to be your personal list so I can't argue with that.

Nice find, Pauly! Go Spidey!!!

Just a side note: it's a little disconcerting that Sandman and Harry are being coined as "secondary". We'll see...:spidey:

sm3 after the transformers??...

Yes. Spider-Man 3 will be amazing but theres so many other reasons why I'm looking forward to Transformer's more. ILM are doing the CGI for Transformer's and ILM are the best. Visually they will make this film jaw dropping. You also have Spielberg on board doing this flick, along with Bay you of course is great at action. I'm a Transformer's fan and theres noting more exciting then seeing two gaint robots kicked the **** of each other in down town Los Angeles. Now I'm not saying Transformer's will be better then Spider-Man 3 but in terms of excitment I'm more excited about Transformer's.

Tranformers doesn't deserve to be that high... I'd put Iron man above that any day let alone TDK...

I honestly think that Transformers will only make Mission Impossible 3 numbers. I mean the movie is based on Hasbro toys.

People laughed their asses off in the POTC trailer... how can the public take this movie seriously other than the grown up kids who were infatuated with the toys growing up...

i love seeing average movie goers get psyched about spiderman 3!

Average movie viewers are turning into fanboys... great point... I don't remember anyone talking about POTC 2 that much before it came out... but lately when I am talking movies... people are bringing up SPiderman... and they ain't just fan boys... this movie is goin 400 if not 500... no doubt it will take out POTC 3 next year...

Spidey 3 should be No. 1 in 2007 and Iron Man No.1 in 2008. At the BO that is:D.

Transformers will take in a lot more the MI:3. This movie won't be out for another year, yet there is a buzz and not just on the internet. You got kids, teenagers and adults all intrested in this movie. You've got Spielberg's name attached to this movie, his name alone will drag people to see it. MI:3 didn't take in big numbers because people are not intrested in Tom Cruise that much anymore. MI:3 had things going against, Transformer's don't. The movie is not just based on toys its also based on the seris which is worldwide known. Everyone knows Transformer's and once the trailer comes I swear upon thee, people will flock to see this movie.

I disagree with that Samurai.. its the worst when an average movie goer gets excited for a movie like this. I only say that because I remember when the second one was coming out and I had known about it since it was announced. Then maybe 2 months before the movie came out a girl I am not exactly a fan of, came up to me and said "did you know they are coming out with Spider-man 2?" I know the intentions are right and I am sure I am sounding like an ass hole right now, but an average movie goer sees one trailer and think they know everything. It gets a little annoying.

Im surprised at Transformers being in that position, but other than that it's a pretty solid list. I mean personally, The Dark Knight is my number one, but it's mostly due to my own bias as a humongous Batman fan. The movie's 2 years away and almost nothing is known about it, so it's impressive that it's even as high as it is.

Spider-Man 3 is definatley at number one. That movie's gonna be huge, and hopefully it'll break POTC2's record.

It better break it's record. I mean POTC2 was all hype, hype and hype. I went to see it and I thought it sucked, I felt cheated. I'm pretty sure Spider-man 3 will whip it's ass.
