I think its important that in both the first teaser and then in the ComicCon footage, the symbiote and Venom are featured promently. This is more emphasis than I thought there would be and indicates that the film will likely have more emphasis on the symbiote and Venom than I originally thought.

And even though Sandman looks well done and I generally like Church as an actor - and Harry going mad, imulating his father and becoming a Goblin thing of sorts makes for good storytelling, for me and expect many others, the sight of the black ooz hits another level. I sort of murmured in a hushed rather wary tone; "Its the symbiote" ... and then; "My god its VENOM!" It sent the hype and my anticipation right through the roof.

So even though Venom's actual screen time may be limited, the symbiote and its effect on Peter and then the evolution of Brock into Venom looks to play a major role in the plot of the film and psychologically has lit the match to what looks to be a powder keg of a SPIDER-MAN movie.

This movie will be a very deep movie. It will have a bigger meaning (life-wise) than the previous two. I love the fact that it will deal with being depressed/something taking you over, and overcoming it, or giving into it.

Even if Venom dies (i sure hope not.), this movie will bring in HUGE money, because every person familiar with at least the FOX cartoon will know the name VENOM.

Sandman is the main baddie yet everything will be building up to the Venom vs. Spidey fight at the end. Harry is just a side villian to mess with Peter. Sandman will have more screen time but I think the Venom Spidey fight will be the climax and the most epic scene.

That makes good sense...I like that idea...calling the symbiote venom instead. I think Dr. Connors will refer to it as a symbiote but I like Peter calling it a venom. Then Eddie can see: "We are not Eddie anymore...we are Venom."

I suspect Venom will in fact not be a significant character, only making a relatively short appearance. The focus seems to be on Sandman, GG2, and Peter's own internal struggle with the symbiote.

I agree Venom will probably be a lot like Darth Vader was in Episode 3. Something that the story will be building up to but rather short lived. However expect Sony to promo the hell out of Venom, to pack the theaters. I also suspect that Venom will will live especialy if this is the last Spidey movie. New Line had talked about making a Venom movie years ago, but decided to go with Blade as their dark super hero. So I think if he can bring in the $$$ you may see a spin off.

thanks for liking the idea, Sam did say that he was a main villain, and that he had more screen time than sandman, so that lead me to believe my theory is correct, venom is the symbiot, therefor, being the MAIN villian, cause im sure that Eddie/Venom will not have as much screen time as Sandman.
