Toy Story 4

Better trailer for me than the last, the point of the film escapes me and so still not certain I'll see it on big screen, but it's Pixar so most probably....possibly.

I still think this should have been a half hour TV special, or maybe an hour. It just doesn't look strong enough to be a full length movie.

Depends on how it ends.

Yeah. I basically felt nothing while watching this trailer.

I know Pixar trailers are usually crap, but this is one of the very few times where I'm like: "...why did this need to be made? Why? It offers nothing new and rehashes previous plot points in the franchise."

I'm cautiously optimistic. I really didn't like Incredibles 2. I can't believe how much they boringified what is arguably their most entertaining property. That's probably my least-favorite Pixar movie. I thought Finding Dory was just okay. It's very cute, but also kind of boring after several re-watches. I actually liked Cars 3 (and Cars 2, I don't buy into the extreme hate for that movie). Both Toy Story sequels are great, with 3 being better, in my opinion. And Monsters University is just kind of whatever. I definitely don't think Toy Story 4 needs to be made, but it looks like it has a higher entertainment value than Incredibles 2 and Finding Dory, at least.

I saw Toy Story at 5 years old, so the loyalty to the brand is just too strong for me to resist this flick.

It does look like one of those shorts like Toy Story of Terror!.

Yeah, they could have done it as a summer special or something.

I think what's a little off-putting, for me at least, is that there're a number of new characters getting a lot of focus and they're all voiced by big celebrities. Outside of Hanks, Allen, and Cusack I'd never really noticed the actors ahead of the characters. I'm excited about it, but it also sorta cheapens it in a weird way. Makes it feel more like a special given what I've come to expect from the features I guess.

Is there any hype for this movie?

Can only speak for myself obviously, but I am hesitant BUT it's Pixar and I love Pixar and on the whole, have loved their films. I still think there's no need for it but the 2nd trailer was better and I think I'll find the usual warmth & emotion of their films, in there somewhere.

Im very excited for Toy Story 4. yes, I felt 3 ended perfectly, but Toy Story was one of my first animated films ever so I always love more.

I'm the exact opposite. Toy Story is my favorite animated film of all time and those three movies mean so much to me. But when I see Woody on a billboard I feel nothing. The first Toy Story film in nearly a decade and I should be off the walls excited. I shouldn't but I just do. I don't think I'm even gonna see it. I'll watch it one day. Maybe? The story perfectly ended at 3 and I'd rather ignore it. It's like if they made another Iron Man with RDJ. It just isn't necessary because the story is done. From that it begs the questions why does this exist?

If you guys enjoy it, great, I'm just not gonna see things when the only reason to see it is on the principle of something I love. When something is over, it's over to me for whatever reason that may be.

I’m going in with an open mind. Low expectations but I hope I will enjoy the film.

It exist for the same reason all the Toy Story films exist. Why the Avengers exist. Why Frozen exist. Why both versions of the Lion King exist. Because people want to see them and thus it will make Disney a lot of money.

For everyone who is going to swear off seeing this movie like you DJ, there are 100 who are going to go see this and most likely have a great time. Also I do find it ironic that a movie that ended on the idea that a toy's person does not end when their original owner grows up, can't have a sequel.

My fiancees nephew loves Toy Story and he's only 2 years old. He has Buzz Lightyear PJs and woody/Buzz lightyear toys. Thats why Toy Story still exists.

in 1995, I had the woody doll and Buzz doll too as well as multiple variations including the rare Santa Claus Woody which I never opened. And I sold it in 2014! Terrible mistake.

Yeah this is basically where I am. Toy Story 1 and 2 were childhood favs; watching 3 many years later was an emotional ride in the cinema, a damn impossible triumph to behold. I was hugely skeptical when Toy Story 4 was announced and as it draws closer I feel nothing. Don't think it is necessary, not excited, not angry. I am completely apathetic toward it.

I think it is more than just the feeling that 3 wrapped the story up perfectly (though it did), it is also that Pixar have completely destroyed my faith in them to make sequels with purpose. I guess the incredible creative streak couldn't last forever, but I'm pretty disinterested in Pixar in general now.

I think they did this for closure regarding Bo Peep and also how a toy actually gains sentience. I know the entire concept is basically a fairy tale but it's interesting.
