Toy Story 4

I know, but I can't think of any other story fans would want to see at this point. Does anybody want to see Woody running around without Buzz? Or Buzz and Jessie at Bonnie's house without Woody? As it stands now, Woody will never see his old friends again, and they will never see him again. This after spending three movies stressing how they'll be friends forever and together through everything. Oops, guess not. Not how I expected this series to end.

That's why Toy Story 3's ending was perfect. Sunnyside is heaven for toys now. You get played by kids all the time and nobody owns you.
And when Bonnie grows up, her mother would most likely give Woody and company to Sunnyside. That's what I've always pictured in my mind. It was perfect for everyone involved.

Saw this last night and while it was a perfectly good film (those henchmen dolls were creepy), I'm still of the opinion is wasn't necessary.
Not all of the characters landed for me & I would have preferred the originals to be more involved.
The cynic in me immediately thought about solo Woody & Buzz films after this, I hope that's not a road Disney will go down.

I saw this about a week ago now, and I am still processing it. I was kind of shocked how much it made me reconsider the rest of the series, especially the second one. I knew I was going to, but I didn't expect it to effect me quite the way it did. I now love all 4 movies, and all the shorts and specials. But this movie made me feel like the second film was the "television special" of the films. The one lacking the exploration, the "big idea" that the other three possess. Woody's crisis and the start of his proper second act was just so much, in the right way.

All the new characters are perfect, the focus on Woody, Bo and Forky was fantastic and it is an all time beautiful film. I started crying once they showed the little girl lost and from then on I was done. Pixar finally has their western, and no that blah bug movie doesn't count.

By the way, thank maker for the dad's driving at the end. I was about to straight up burst into sobbing when they cut back to that. Clearly they knew the audience might need that bit of fun to get them through that ending. :funny:

I don't know. I still think TS3 was the perfect ending for the franchise. The ending in this feels kinda meh for me. It's sad, but at the same time not emotional enough for me to tear up like TS3.
If this is the end, and it is Toy Story, you never know, but if it is I think this is a "better ending". The Toy Story films have always been about Woody and his unwinnable battle against time, even while being an ageless demon inside a toy cowboy body. The last film saw him live out his "purpose" by moving Andy on into adulthood. He accomplished his "purpose".The thing is, that wasn't the end of Woody. And the story they tell here was not only great, but also very natural. The chance that Bonnie would care for Woody in the same way Andy did was always low. And they took that idea, and turned it into something really special. Woody is basically an empty nester, who defined himself by raising his child. Now that he has accomplished that, he doesn't know what to do and we watch him search for purpose. And because the series is about Woody being that parent, as opposed to Andy growing up, I think this worked out perfectly.

There won't be any more movies or TV specials unless they figure out a way to get Woody back to Bonnie's house.

So there are still some countries which Toy Story 4 hasn't been released yet? I absolutely thought this wouldn't even crack 800-900m.

I am not surprised toy story 3 made more then a billion and that was like 10-11 years ago and OS has grown sense then. Yes movie is now at 917.9 million and still has not come out in several places like I said. Toy Story 4 (2019) - Release Info - IMDb

Comes out in august in several places and even latter in some others.

Serious question, why? This was always a billion dollar proposal. Especially after what Finding Dory and The Incredibles 2. Those who kept harping about this being a bad idea where always miles off base. The general audiences most certainly wanted more Toy Story. They always want more Toy Story. They want more of their Pixar favorites in general.

Toy Story 4 will sail across a billion. Probably going to end up the highest grosser in the series. Definitely going to do so domestically.

This will be Disney billion dollar film no.6 of 2019 (after TLK) with Frozen 2 and RoS to come!

Its funny. The entire film ends up as a metaphor for Woody's death, (right down to organ donation) and works as a perfect epilogue to the original 3. Woody served his purpose for Andy, and his friends. Watched a new person take over. Then moved on to a life after with Bo Peep his angel.

There's only one shot I wish they would've included: Andy taking a date to the fair, with Woody and Bo Peep looking down on him.

Seems the clip shown is Forky wanting to know what money is, so he asks Disney Ham.
