In a rational world, he would be kicked off the ballot, but i expect the supreme court to side with him on immunity, i expect republicans will rally around him as they are now, and consolidate power and will nominate him as their nominee for president, 4 days after his sentencing that is the republican party of 2024, we as americans have to vote against him and eliminate him one and for all, but sadly the republican party is now broken beyond repair and this very well could be the norm now, a nominee that is about power, this isnt the last time we will face this moving forward, Trump opened the door, there are worse people willing to do far worse.
I’m not so sure that the Supreme Court will agree with him on the immunity challenge.

I was on the road all day yesterday so I didn’t get to respond, but given the number of charges, I’m kind of surprised how quickly this came down. I would say that the evidence must’ve been pretty overwhelming and the jury convinced.
I was surprised too. I think maybe the reason it went so quickly is sort of a "if he's guilty of one, he's guilty of all" because they charges were all very similar to each other and all related to one underlying crime that dragged on for a year.

In my town, (Louisville) the cops are now lying and illegally arresting rich white men like Scottie Scheffler in spite of their innocence.

But the prosecutors are dismissing the charges against white people who didn’t do what they were accused of. So there are still some benefits for rich white people.
Huh.....well, I guess if you're rich, you have a better chance of not facing legal consequences.....whodda thunk? ;)

Only problem is that “consequences” require you to have done something wrong in the first place. The Scottie Scheffler thing was an oddity because it was a rich white guy being arrested by a lying cop.

I think there are some people who would disagree with you about that. LOL

I feel pretty sure they won't, but will slow walk it for Trump's benefit. At worst, what they'll do is muddy the waters so it can be unequally applied.....of course I don't know too much about the law, I just know there are some pretty disreputable people on the SCOTUS.

It bums me out that SNL had their season finale already. I'd love to hear Che and Jost weigh in on this.

Are you insinuating that Scottie Scheffler actually hit a cop with his car, as opposed to the genius cop running at the car and hitting it with his flashlight in a fit of rage like the video showed?

Bottom line: Louisville Metro Police are basically now like having the cast-offs of 1990 Los Angeles Police Dept. It’s really sad.

This is what I'm afraid of. Crazy what people will do to keep favor with the Orange Menace.

No. Not at all. I'm suggesting that some people suffer consequences because they don't have the same access to legal help that others have. Sorry if that didn't come through.

I realized before that the feds probably watch forums like ours that are politically active.

Hi FBI!

Hi FBI!
I'm guessing that's probably true. I don't worry about it. I haven't so much as run a red light in I don't know how long. On top of that, I've never advocated for any sort of violence. Sure, I have political positions that are way out of the mainstream, but that's not illegal.....yet. :funny:

I just find it amusing that there is a file on all of us somewhere. They have my real name somewhere with “Hobgoblin” mentioned with it.
They must be thrilled with me, all the serial killer shows and books I read. :P

The fact that any normal dude would not be able to get a job due to having felonies, and yet Trump is able to possibly hold the highest office in the nation goes to show what a complete joke this country is.

How is it that someone with past felonies can not own a gun, yet Trump could potentially have access to our nuclear arsenal?!

  1. Paul Manafort, campaign chairman: Tax fraud and bank fraud
  2. Rick Gates, Trump’s deputy campaign manager: Conspiracy against the United States
  3. Roger Stone, campaign adviser: Obstruction, lying to the FBI, witness interference
  4. Steve Bannon, chief strategist: Defying a subpoena
  5. George Nader, foreign policy adviser: Child sex abuse
  6. Peter Navarro, trade adviser: Contempt of Congress
  7. Michael Cohen, Trump attorney: Campaign finance fraud and tax evasion
  8. Jenna Ellis, Trump attorney: Aiding and abetting false statements
  9. Micahel Flynn, national security adviser: Lying to the FBI
  10. George Papadopoulos, campaign adviser: Lying to the FBI
  11. Kenneth Chesebro, Trump attorney: Conspiracy to file false documents
  12. Alan Wiesselberg, Trump Organization CFO: Perjury
  13. Elliot Broidy, top fundraiser and campaign adviser: Conspiracy to violate FISA
Trump used his extraordinary pardon authority in a very un-ordinary way the last time he had the opportunity, pardoning pals Manafort, Flynn, Broidy, and Stone so that none of them had to serve more than a fraction of their sentences. He also pardoned Bannon, who was charged with ripping off donors who thought they were helping to build Trump’s wall, before his case even went to trial. That didn’t stop Bannon from getting himself indicted a second time—and convicted—after Trump left office.

Right now, the Good Felons club doesn’t include his former attorneys Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman, who have both been indicted. And Sidney Powell is only a junior member, thanks to her multiple misdemeanors.

Chief of staff Mark Meadows and deputy chief of staff Daniel Scavino didn’t face charges, though the House voted to hold them in contempt and recommended their prosecution to the Department of Justice. They got lucky.

But give it time. More Trump associates are sure to join the list.
