I barelly remember it, but in the urban areas it does make sence to use it, it would be more jarring if it was used during the fight sequeces or more emotional bits. The bands used even have a very urban feel to them, it's like in Terminator 2 when they use "Bad to the Bone", it fits, and when the real story gets going they use the compositor's sounds.

Bad to the Bone was used once as a joke. Go rewatch ROTF and you'll see what I mean. It's literally every scene change almost.

Like I said, with these types of movies it's inevitable.

Mainstream music and mainstream movie = Bazillions of $

I'm not saying it's right but that is what's been happening since Transformers in 2007.

That's very much the truth sir.

Been relooking at various scenes of the 2nd film and i still don't see what you mean, the Linking Park songs are only being used during Sam/ Mikaela bits and the end. The parts with the army and bots don't have them.

It's used several times when they're in Egypt during scene changes where it shows them just driving from point a to b. It's not used during any military stuff I don't believe.

I see, yeah, when it's used too much it can date the movie a lot, though it can also be nostalgic, i like a lot of 80s-90s films due to this, Rocky IV is a good example.

As said before, Transformers is also supposed to be for kids up to people in their 20s, mixing Transformers with popular rock bands boosts the money both parties make, since they're both trying to please the same demographics.

Sweet new Grimlock poster!

Open this in a new tab or save it because it's huge and the detail is awesome.

I thought there was the use of the instramental stuff in the NEST scenes at the start?

The new footage of Prime riding Grimlock into battle is awesome! :D

The part where Grimlock is breathing fire, apparently at drift, you can see Optimus near him and he looks so small. Later, Optimus is riding Grimlock in the city and it sorta looks normal.

Regardless, rad.

Grimlock isn't breathing fire at Drift... He's further back than Grimlock, as it Prime, who is way further back than Drift is

Eh well, maybe I should watch it again. Like I said though, looks rad.

Yeah, it's there as well.
You mean this video?

Yup! It was in low res and recorded from some reality show though. Thanks for posting the high res.

Footage looks rad!

Pretty ****ing awesome! :up::up:

Grimlock and Lockdown look sick.

def28 beat me to it.

Lockdown's ship is sick. I'm impressed by that trailer.

Yeah, his ship looks awesome. No shortage of chaos here haha.

Loved the last shot of Prime doing classic owning, and Grimlock tossing bots.

I feel like Marky Mark's daughter and boyfriend are really gonna bring this movie down.

Optimus and Grimlock kicking ass. Doesn't get much better than that. :woot:

All the photo realism that was one of my biggest compliments of this franchise has been completely thrown out the window. Nothing looks "bad" per say but the level of CGI looks relatively run of the mill. The action scenes are still staged quite well but I'm disappointed in Bay for compromising the photo realism he successfully was able to accomplish in his past films.

Bay is a master of knowing how to properly film and light a shot for ILM and the other VFX companies to do great work so it's a bummer for me that he let that polish go down the tube to save the studio some money.

These movies were never all that great when it came to the plot but I have always commended them for being the top of the crop when it came to its almost flawless/impeccable work on its CGI.

Still looks like a lot of fun but I'll seriously miss that photo realism. It's subtle and probably not noticeable to many but it is to an obsessive compulsive who's quite picky when it comes to VFX like me I suppose.

Did anyone else notice how when that white car, the Sonic I think, was jumping over the soldiers, it's tyre smacks one of them in the face? ****in' awesome.

Also, at the end, Grimlock stabs a Decepticon with his tail, rips him off the tail and spits him out. :woot:

Another filmmaking and visual effects expert, I see. Great, like we need more of those around here. :oldrazz:

I noticed that! Cool shot. Yeah he did that move in FoC so I'm glad to see it in this!

this is not even a 50% reboot. this is a 100% Bay sequel.

we will even get the same story. scientiests discover a robot or techonlogy from millions of years ago . that landed on our planet.

the only difference is OP design and no Shia.

i agree. i think its a combination of cheaper budget, different software, more cgi shots, more wide shots, more close up shots.

you get more action and the same Bay type story with the same acting and the same dialoge but less realistic cgi.:yay:

So in short the government start hunting the Autobots. They go into hiding until Mark Whalberg ruins things. Another invasion happens & Optimums still gives a damn
