Age of Extinction Transformers 4 is going to be AWESOME. - Part 1

I've heard the term "cape-c'rap" used.

It's actualy kind of funny, certain film boards criticize films like the Dark Knight and how they don't hold a candle to other better movies, yet, superhero communities see TDK as one of this generation's greatest movies and complain that the Academy ignores these movies.

If this was an X-Men film, Spider-Man film or random MCU film the runtime would be met with cheers.

Those films would never be that long. Because they are not obnoxiously self indulgent like Bay's TF sequels.

The only reason I have a problem with the length, is because I just know that the last hour will be dedicated to **** blowing up.

New spot with Hound saying a line!

Man, I'm getting stoked for this flick now!

I want to see a clip of Walter Hound use Decepticon heads as bowling balls! :hehe:

TASM2 is 142mins, Avengers 143mins, TDK is 152mins, TDKR 165mins....all of these films are almost as long, or longer than this new Transformers, so you're theory is pretty much wrong.

And you're right, Bay's films are obnoxiously self indulgent but poo-pooing about runtime before you see the film is just being negative for the sake of it. Is there a chance that the film will be padded and overlong? Yes, I would think so. BUT is there also a chance that it could be a really fun movie with a cool plot, awesome action and even likable characters? Yes, that may happen as well.

 That's an issue why? Isn't that the only reason we still see these movie?

Wolf looks awesome. I love it!

There's a point, where you reach a Director's career and can easily know what to expect, Michael Bay will not get better, there are very low chances of this being different, the trailers and teasers even point out to the same we've come to expect from these movies. Bay has made some 9 movies, that gives a pretty good idea of what to expect by now, and it's not as if he was known for changing his story structure or Directing Style.

Eh, we'll all still go see it, China is definitely gonna go see it, and it'll make assloads of money per the norm.

I don't know about you, but overly long action set pieces make me zone out. After 20-30 minutes of **** constantly blowing up, I simply stop caring.

 I never said anything about him changing his style or story structure. This film can have the same feel and tone of the others but with less OTT low brow humor.

I'm not saying this is somehow going to be the new, respected, gritty reboot of the franchise or anything. I firmly expect much of the same kind of indulgences form the past films, just restrained in certain aspects. A few instances aside, the third film greatly pulled back the idiotically OTT Bayisms of the second. I'm hoping/semi-expecting the the main characters to be a bit more grounded due to them being a family unit instead of a teenager/20 something.

Some interesting lines by Lockdown in this one...

''You think you were born? You were built and they want you back.''

Quintessons!!!

That would be rad!

Is the same voice actor who did Jetfire voicing Lockdown? They sound very similar.

Mark Ryan I think the name is... He did the Bee voice in TF1 as well...

Cool, I like that Bay uses the same voice talent.

One of these days Bumble Bee has gotta talk again.

He's still not talking? Not even with the new cartoon coming out, that makes him a Prime?

*EDIT*

Might have read that wrong. Topic title of the Article was misleading. Bumblebee's not gonna be a Prime, he's just in charge since Optimus is apparently gone.

Hopefully they switch that up here, but I doubt it.

It freaking annoyed me when they made Bumblebee a mute in Fall of Cybertron, especially since Johnny Yong Bosch did such a fantastic job in the previous game.

So I loved Jetfire in Revenge of the Fallen, unfortunately I can't relive that love because when I try to rematch Revenge of the Fallen I shut it off within 15 minutes.

In my experience from speaking with film snobs, the Nolan Bat films rank high, Raimi's spider man films and the avengers do not.

The only film that is longer is TDK Rises. And that was obnoxiously self indulgent and long too. ASM2 also was. TDK and Avengers were just about right.

And yes there is a chance that this films 2 hours and 45 minutes could fly by. But looking at the evidence, the previous TF sequels, that seems very unlikely.

Revenge of the Fallen was one of the most long winded, bloated and boring film i've ever seen.

Realy? The Cinema snobs i see seem to also find Nolan an overrated hack, i've even seen statements that Memento was his only good film from one particular snob. /TV/ also seems to find him passable for the most part. I actualy see Spider-Man 2 getting some more love there due to Raimi's involvement, while he's not considered a genius, most seem to like him for the personality he gives ti his films and Evil Dead.
