World Transformers: Animated series news/discussion

The tranformers theme has no name that I'm aware of.

S.U.V. was a pretty episode.

Also...haha Fred Willard is voicing Swindle.

The lastest ep was ok. Looking forward to the last two eps to see the starscream clones.

Watched the SUV episode. Probably the worst episode to date. It was just a boring and pointless filler that focused mostly on the humans of the show even though we're not watching this series because of them :( Felt like the writers suffered a mental block which is why they chose to throw this rubbish in. All i can say is i hope they redeem themselves with the last few eps and hopefully it will be it for the human villains of this show!

This is what I was afraid would happen after seeing season 1. All the annoying and pointless human villians came back in season 2 to join forces as a Legion of Doom ripoff that should have no place in a transformers cartoon. Now that Hasbro recently acquired the rights to all past, present, and future transformers cartoons I pray they will finally produce a transformers cartoon that properly represents the G1 universe in the near future.

How is it a Legion of Doom ripoff?

I can't believe I'm saying this but... I liked SUV.

Mind you, I never cared for any of these human villains and always found them to be completely ******ed (not to mention as badly drawn as all the humans are on this show) but considering the episode was about Bumblebee learning to be less of an arrogant Jackass and that "teamwork is important" the SUV provided something different.

The Autobots in this show are essentially watered down versions of the Gargoyles in their group dynamic. Optimus is like Goliath but commands less resPect and is whinier, Ratchet's a crankier Hudson, Bumblebee is Lexington without a shred of intelligence and Bulkhead is actually kind of on par with Broadway. Only Prowl actually seems to one up Brooklyn as a competent second in command. No Bronx and I don't feel like comparing Sari & Blackarachnia to Elisa and Demona. Maybe next time.

So I guess it was kind of refreshing to see a different team brought together for an episode even if they were characters I never thought I wanted to see again. Hell, there was actually romantic tension between Nanosec and Slow-Mo. I don't care if they are the lamest villains ever, I woudn't mind seeing them back in season 3.

So...i'm confused. Are these the same Prime, Bumblebee, etc.. from G1? Or is this a whole 'nother continuity? I'm guessing the latter as they have no clue who the Dinobots are when they first see them.

It's a whole other continuity.

Its a different continuity then the G1 toon.

The only shows that have been tied to the G1 toon were Beast Wars and Beast Machines and to tell the truth even those shows dont fit into the G1 continuity nicely.

I really wanted Prowl to be able to keep his upgrades, but w/e. It's been awesome seeing more bots though

He's cool enough without 'em. Really, he's the only autobot who doesn't make me sigh with disappointment except when a plot device calls for him to be as big a loser as the others. sPeaking of which, I was watching "Sari, no one's home" and...

[BLACKOUT]Does it bother anybody else that 5 Autobots--including Optimus friggin' Prime himself-- couldn't take out Megatron's schizoid lackey? Even when they called upon their last resort move, the awesome sounding "Omega Formation" they accomplished nothing and got Ratchet held hostage. The only reason they survived was Blitzwing got his priorities straightened out and flew off. Really, it's one thing to give your characters an underdog quality or overpowering Megatron to be more of a threat than ever, but they turned these protagonists into a bunch of incompetent losers. For God's sake, I'm supposed to be awestruck by Optimus Prime, not feel sorry for him because he can barely hold together a ragtag team of 4 other Autobots and getting made fun of by Sentinel *****ebag.[/BLACKOUT]

Nope. Cause that's the point of the series. The Autobot main cast is made up of 1 cranky oldman and 4 rejects and frack-ups. Bumble-Bee and Bulkhead BARELY made it through basic training. Optimus washed out of the elite guard training program. Prowl well we haven't been told yet but it'll be something similar but with a ninja school. All of them are doing OJT at being competent soldiers, and a unit. And you can see they still have a ways to go. Don't forget Starscream beat the skidplates off all 5 of them, nearly killing Prime.

Black Friday was a pretty good episode. The show is always at it's best when Grimlock is on.

I got the Prime vs Megs two pack at Wal-Mart and it came with the pilot episode on DVD. I have yet to watch this series but this episode was pretty awesome.

No it's much more enjoyable. But I always prefered Rodimus Prime (who's quite similar to Animated Optimus).

INTERESTING!!!

and here i thought i was the only one who saw the similarities. ;) i liked RP too. what do you like about RP? not a lot of TF fans do, and i could understand why the animated OP is not as well-liked as the G1 OP.

i do have to say i like both RP and the animated OP. :word:

Only the first part was and I watched it. It was very good. Loved Blurr and how fast he speaks, Starscream's Clones were good, Megatron was amazing. Everything was good 8/10.

Ahh good, I'm starting to like these cliffhanger's in this series

Nevermind there was part 2. I only saw the last 5 minutes.:csad:
