World Transformers: Animated series news/discussion

I'm actually starting to warm up to this Television show from what I've seen.

I love the concept, but the idea of a little girl and superheroism as opposed to Decepticon fighting doesn't sit well for me. And unlike the film, this won't be relying on SFX to allure audiences with nostalgia. It'll be relying on enough resemblance to the original animation to appeal to a smaller-scale audience.

It has room for greatness...I'm just not convinced there's a lot of room to begin with.

Some things I really like some thing I hate.

Hate that whole coloured background thing when they transforms, almost every show does that these days. Ugh. And that punk ass ***** girl.

I hope this won't be like Cybertron. Watching one and the same Transformation sequence a million times. And that little kid already looks more annoying than all the kids from Armada, Energon & Cybertron combined.

I agree, but does the kid have to be annoying as hell? Remember Spike....Spike was cool... I miss spike, spike should be in it.

It's going to be weird having BB in it without ol spike. It's like having Han without Chewie.

It's weird because other humans in the show look somewhat normal where she is some deformed looking anime kid.

(I'm assuming he's still got a fusion cannon and it either got cut off or he can remove it, a la G1) He actually kinda resembles Super Megatron from the Transformers Battlestars manga:

Mageatron is looking great.

Sari's interaction is nothing like what's been done in the past three shows - no annoying kid telling robots what to do, Autobots looking to her to learn about Earth, she is also a bit of an outcast.

Thank god! NO kid should tell the TF's what to do!!!

i hope the animation won't end up looking like johnny bravo-style animation, coz the transformers teaser pics (i haven't seen any of the teaser vids yet) look similar to that of the johnny bravo series--very much in the Cartoon Network trademark of cartoons.

since they're goin for the 6-11 market, how are they going to deal with the inherent violence here? is this going to be a sanitized version of the conventional transformers storyline?

More like Teen Titans, judging by the clips.

Probably, considering the fact that most of the Autobots don't appear to be using firearms - Prime's got an ax, Prowl uses ninja stars, Bulkhead has a wrecking ball, Grimlock his sword, etc. Ratchet appears to have some kind of forearm blasters, but it's hard to tell what he's using for ammo. But that's no worse than G1, where you never saw ANYONE die in the TV series (at least pre-animated movie - and to all you G1 sticklers, don't say Skyfire when you know damn well they dug him up alive and well the next episode ).

Dear god, why does Optimus have a ****ing mouth again?! Some shots made him look like a blue and red Batman a la TAS.

I'll likely check it out, give it a chance, but its looking mediocre so far.

I always hated with his mouth guard down.
It's was grand in the movie, didn't bother me,
but for some reason it does in animation.

the toy for this animation series looks fine by me, but the toon? it looks like prime has blue lipstick on! darn it! i'd rather have the toy.
