World Transformers: Animated series news/discussion

Ah well, these are the same producers as Teen Titans. And the Titans started out just as ******ed. It got significantly better (that evil Space Tofu episode still kicks ass)

Come on guys! I was a bit ticked that we're getting the Constructicons (again...) rather than the much cooler Stunticons! But I'm giving it a chance. And let's face it...the writers need to target the younger concensus somehow.
Stunticons (and Protectabots) are the least popular. On average. It goes in kiddie popularity, construction vehicles<military vehicles<rescue vehicles<sports cars<trains. Better hope that they do the Stunticons for classics.

Even if they aren't TV producer feel they have to assume that they are.

Doesn't this show take place in like, 2050 or whatever? Why the f*#k is Headmaster using slang his granddad probably never used outside of a chatroom? For real though, I don't mind the subplots involving giant robot slumber parties or art so much because the inherent contrast makes it entertaining. But when you face off our heroes against the corniest, most cliche'd human villains crapped up exclusively for this show when there are legions of decepticons not even touched upon, it pisses off a gigantic, loyal fanbase. But hey, as long as Hasbro sells happy meal toys, I guess nobody cares.

Here here. For what it's worth, sPectacular sPider-Man has been doing a great job of meeting that standard so far.

I never had a problem with Teen Titans. I like all the episodes of that series. However, I don't know why the creators of that series have tried to turn a transformers cartoon into something it was never meant to be. The previous transformers series didn't have human characters this annoying, ******ed superhuman villians, and multiple episodes without decepticons. They also didn't have episodes were the autobots had slumber parties, contributed to art shows, went tricker treating, and participated in pro-wrestling matches.

This cartoon was never meant to be a comedy. If that was the intention of the producers then call it something else. I would have no problem if this was called go-bots because the original one sucked just like this
cartoon does. What's amazing is the original go-bots cartoon was more enjoyable to watch then this piece of crap.

I'm beginning to wonder if these producers are even capable of making an enjoyable transformers episode because I've yet to see one.

That sucks. I was really looking forward to seeing the new spider-man cartoon after the horrid Spiderman Unlimited in the late 90s.

What is up with most of these comic book and action cartoon remakes sucking lately? I have not enjoyed a transformers cartoon series in 15 years. I don't care for the GI Joe sigma six cartoon. The new batman cartoon is okay but, the animation bothers me. The Legion of Superheroes is mediocre.

I'm loving Spectacular Spider-Man so far!!!

NO worries guy, season 2 is mostly all Decepticon eps.

I'm still worried. Unless all the annoying human characters completely disappear I will have a hard time getting into this series.

Watch Beast Wars then. Of course you'd still have to deal with pre-Evolved humans.

And to be fair to the creators, they need to really have these breather episodes for character build-up and yeah...just to annoy die-hard G1 fanboys. It will get better, Season 2 is shaping up for it.

On the plus side, the Decepticons in terms of design are looking BADDER than ever. Lugnutz is one that needs his own fig.

I thought the G1 Predacons (PredaKing) was the most popular of the combiners?

The previous Transformers series were steeped in so many Anime elements it might as well have been called GaoGaiGar featuring Cybertrons and Destrons. The Unicron Trilogy sucked, it had no soul.

Too true.

What's your point? Pointing out the flaws of previous crappy transformers series doesn't make transformers animated suck any less. This series might as well be called "Autobots fighting lame human villians in the big city with special guest appearances by a few Decepticons." Also, the animation of the theme song should be edited with scenes of the lame human villians the autobots have encountered.

Thats mostly because of the fact that they were the only G1 combiner who's components were "in scale" while in robot modes with the basic TF's from the rest of the line.

So if you wanted your Predeacon leader to fight Optimus Prime it didnt look like Prime was fighting a Hobit.

That being said I find it very funny when you ask a group of TF fanboys who their fav combined robots from the show the the numbers lean twards Devestator but if you aske them which is their fav combiner toy they say the Predacons.

Actually mine was Superion, but who's keeping score right? :D

Bruticus. Nah. I'm all about Menasor.

Theweepeople, its like you seem to ignore the several other episodes where the Decepticons are featured prominently. Lost&Found was pretty good in terms of animation quality and pacing, Sound and Fury too. This series is barely scratching the surface of its potential man.

I'm talking about wha tHasbro looks at when making figure decisions. $$$$$$$ Construction vehicles, followed by military vehicles sell best.

I am verily pissed that these guys can get these figs so much earlier than me and when I'm getting them, they'll be like 3 times the original price at a WAY later time. Thanks for the heads up.

Quoted for the truth, I to see it's potential which is why I still continue to watch it. It will get to the stage when all the regular characters have been given enough attention with all this hero's fighting crime business, and evolve into something bigger and much more epic. I can honestly see by the 3rd maybe 4th season the Autobots heading back into space for more adventures with other new ones coming to earth Earth. Take the current 5 main characters split them up and mix them up with some new bots like Jazz, Magnus, Ironhide, even bring in others like Sideswipe and Sunstreaker to have stories both set in space and on Earth.

There was a guy in Hong Kong or Singapore (I forget which) selling them on ebay for $0.99 BIN +$29.99 shipping, each. That's how these guys are getting them. Now it looks like he's gone for open auctions but hey. They launch in North America in June with different markets getting them after that.

I love the idea of the story taking place in space and earth at the same time.

Yes, the series may have potential but, we shouldn't have to go through a crappy season or two to witness it's potential. Great cartoon series are great right from the start. This cartoon clearly is not great in any way. It's mediocre at best and I'm not going to continue having faith after seeing so many bad episodes.

Not true man. A possible reason why you're feeling this way is probably because, I dunno, as a more matured G1 fan of the old-skool TFs, this Kiddie TFs kinda disappoints the standards you set for it when you compare it to the sole Testament of G1. I felt the same way for EVERY Jap TF series in the past decade really. Maybe I've lowered my standards but really, I see potential. See, the problem with this series is that it fights a dangerous enemy: Legacy.

Other toons, especially those with original stories don't suffer from this stigma like Avatar The Last Airbender or such. But hey, its your choice man. Diss at will.

Lars, its probably Hong Kong. I'd know if it's in Singapore. I LIVE here! Most of the dealers are waiting on their figs too. Tempting stuff on ebay....but I'll wait.

I couldn't catch this show until Saturday or so and could only handle about five minutes of it. It was all ready annoying and then that mutant kid showed up. I didnt care for any of the Unicron trilogy, but the episodes of those shows I managed to watch had SOME funny stuff in them, which isnt even the main thing a TF show should be going for in the first place. Also, I thought the Armada pilot had good animation. When watching this, I didnt get disappointed or pissed, I was more confused than anything. All this time I thought the TF shows had been bad because Japanese wackiness doesn't translate well to me, and that the Transformers could come back if only they could get another American cartoon. Now I feel embarrassed for being an American, moreso than usual.

I think you misunderstood me. I was saying how well the show is written.

I was wondering about that. I fell in love with this new spiderman cartoon after watching the first few minutes of episode 1. Why can't new adaptations of other classic cartoon series be like this one? This is the first time in a long while that I've had in interest in consistently watching an action cartoon series again.
