Transformers Transformers On Set Notes from themovieblog.com

honestly, with a movie like this, I don't care humans do die or not. It's not a big deal unless it's graphic.

They must, and will die.

Humans always have to die in a disaster movie. Otherwise, it won't look like much of a disaster.

They should kill some pets too, but that's probably stretching too far.

Has the budget for Transformers even been mentioned yet? I am curious of how much money Bay has to blow things up with.
if they are smart they won't give an answer to that, or atleast not a straightforward one. Singer mentioning how much Superman Returns could cost sparked huge debates that the film couldn't live down

I think Bay's mod over at shootforedit said it was something like 150 million. As for Bay putting in his OWN money.... I doubt it.... In fact, Bay is getting paid not just by Dreamworks but by Hasbro. It's why he signed on... he's got a cut of the merchandising. This is a fact stated by the mod over at shootforedit.

Not to mention the $$$ being paid by GM... which AFAIK might go beyond simply providing free vehicles (saves a lot of money!) but also marketing tie-ins.

I have no idea how the GM thing affects the official production budget number one way or the other.

I was able to grab one of the producers later and asked him privately how he felt about the fan reaction. His response was "It's like a child who throws a tantrum because he thinks he's getting something he won't like on Christmas... but I'm the parent who knows that when they open that box they're going to be blown away".

Now that's funny. Just a couple of days ago, I mentioned in some forum (maybe here) that is precisely the wrong train of thought. This is about making MONEY and for that, they need recognition value. Not patronizing ignorance.

Besides, going with the analogy.. Still not going to like those tennis socks. Sorry, Hollywood-daddy.

That was a pretty cool movie. Of sourse, it's tough to beat a movie with Sean Connery.

Well, The League didn't have Halle Berry in a skimpy costume, so I can understand your point.

I know most of you will mock me for saying this but, I found the League of Extraodinary Gentlemen to be more entertaining than X-Men 3. I didn't expect much from LOXG and it turned out okay. I expected X3 to be the greatest X-Men film and the film turned out to be the greatest dissapointing film for me since The Phantom Menace.

Honestly....... I guess me too. I thought it was entertaining AND ultimately forgetable. A throwaway movie to pass the time.

But, from what I hear that movie had practically ZERO in common with its source. And that- to me- removes all credibility from Murphy's quote that he's some parent that knows exactly what the fans want... even if they don't know it themselves yet.

Its funny how they mention that its a disaster movie, Does this mean we will see buildings being blown up, People running from the streets as pulse blasts are flying through the air? If I'm not mistaken, Its already been done. With War Of The Worlds.

I wouldn't mind seeing this type of stuff in Transformers, After all, If people see giant freaken robots attacking a city, They run like hell as they blow stuff, Heh.

i would take pictures

Having grown up and currently living in Manhattan, I find comments like that just totally ignorant and dumb.

Taking pictures would be another habbit of people when they see something they never saw before. So it wouldn't be a surprise if we saw people in the movie pulling out there camera phones and taking pictures of the robots themselfs, heh.
