The plot will be set in motion when 18-year-old Sam Witwicky (Shia LaBeouf) discovers his grandfather's pair of century-old glasses, improbably laser-etched with a map and information about the location of a key artifact, the "Energon" cube, which he then tries to sell on eBay.
When Bay got the first call from producer Steven Spielberg, he said, "My first thought was, 'Nah, I'm not interested.' And just because I thought, 'OK, how am I going to do a toy movie?' And then I realized, when I went to Hasbro, 'OK, start over and go for [a] realistic alien-invasion-robot movie on Earth.' And so, with that thinking in mind, that's how I went about it."

Great...our director didn't even want to direct it in the first place. No wonder he doesn't appeal to the fans...he's originally a non-fan. His realistic alien-invasion-robot comment really has me worried that he'll be approaching this more as WotW than what the Transformers originally was...which was two classes of warring robots.
BAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYY!!!CFlash said:The real truth... if you peruse his site shootforedit (unless its been removed since) is that Hasbro offerred him a cut of the toy sales. He had no intention of making the movie until then.

nosebleed said:That pisses me off to no end. Instead of getting a director who is passionate about Transformers we have a director who opted for a nice chunk of the profit.
Mal'Akai said:Seeing as how this movie has yet to be completed, I would guess there weren't a lot of directors jumping at the chance to do the movie. And honestly, think about the concept. Almost every movie that has attempted what this one is doing (reviving an old TV show) has pretty much failed. With that in mind, I can't say I'd blame a director for passing.
nosebleed said:I know...I still feel it. Bruised and battered as I am...I still have faith. But that doesn't mean that I won't voice my opinion.
But I'm going to kick XW2 in the eyelid if he says anymore stupid stuff like, "Welker is too screechy for Megatron".

1. Givin you a wedgie(script leak)
2. Punched you in the gut(autobot car reveal - bumblebee a camaro)

Theres not much more a man can take.

None.
XW2 does not understand TransFormers.
Kinda like CFLASH whines about everything. They should hook up they'd make a great couple.
