Saw it last night, and was just blown away by how awesome it was. I didn't even mind the humor so much as most reviewers seem to.

I'm really at a loss as to why this movie is getting such negetive reviews. Think it's the epiotme of a fun summer blockbuster.

i think its getting negatieve reviews(critics) because those people dont know what it means to watch just action and some fun jokes in summer.

I laugh at Bumblebee and the parents, I shake my head at the Twins, when I see a hairy man ass and giant testicles dangling in the wind.

I so completely disagree with this notion. You can enjoy a mindless summer action film, and still hate Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The first one received many more positive than negative reviews. They simply thought it was very bad summer action flick. You can't just collectively say that they don't know how to enjoy a non-stop action movie with jokes.

I could live without seeing devastator's balls. I was like...omg. Of course I laughed but that was unnecessary.

The dogs humping part I was fine with that. As for Wheelie dry humping Megan's leg...sure it was funny but again unnecessary. Just glad that it only lasted 3 seconds and Sam told Wheelie to stop. hehe.

Just because it's unnecessary, doesn't mean it shouldn't be in the film. It was funny! :)

Just curious as to if you've seen it already?

If so, do you think the film would actually benefit from a fan-cut/edit when it comes to DVD or is it just not savable...in your opinion of course?

Well, I saw ROTF last night and have been thinking about it and I think I can finally post my thoughts. Overall I thought ROTF was a good movie. It is not awful, nor is it perfect.

Pros: ROTF has spectacular visuals which, in my opinion, are crucial to any movie. ILM did a fantastic job again. I really enjoyed the Megatron-Starscream dynamic . . . It was very reminiscent of the G1 dynamic. I really loved Soundwave and I think he was portrayed perfectly. Soundwave seemed very sinister and devious, just like he should be. The action sequences were also excellent, the forest battle was great. I did not mind the twins too much, however, I can see why some dislike them. Most of the humor was okay, but there was also too much forced humor

Cons: I felt that the pacing was off during the last half/third of the movie and during this time much of the humor was forced (Simmons and Leo mainly). I think a cut of 10-15 minutes in this portion of the film could have made it better. I was also not a fan of the spinning camera shots; they seemed to go on far too long. My wife commented that one of the earlier ones made her feel dizzzy.

I liked this movie, and for me it is on par with the first, maybe slightly better (mainly due to the better characterization of Megatron and Starscream).

7.5/10

Or...

Maybe some people aren't in the mind set of a 6 year old, and want something more than fart joke humour and mindless repetitive action for actions sake.

Popcorn summer blockbusters can still have more than just juvenile jokes and CGI. For the future of cinema please let this be true.

Well it's a critic's job to critique. But, they don't realize that they do no represent the majority of a movie's audience so they exaggerate and try to be funny to reach those people.

Just be happy that this film didn't have a title in which critics could turn into a quip.

If the original Rambo trilogy game out now...critics would hate it.

I'm not really a fan of fan-cuts and edits, but I certainly think the movie would improve tremendously by cutting about 45 minutes.

45 minutes is way too much. I think this would be fine at 2 hours or a tad over.

you pay money for a Bay movie you get this. noone said it will be any different. Bay now made tons of movies. lets stop acting like it was a shock what was in the movie.

The last part definitely dragged way too long. My eyes honestly started to hurt because there was nothing **** blowing up. The battle in the first Movie was better paced and had the right length that kept me at the edge of my seat. Here I was hoping it would finally come to an end.

Yes, there are many film critics with this mindset, but not all. I'm not attacking anyone for liking the film, but I so completely hate the idea that if you don't enjoy a film like this, that you can't enjoy fun action blockbusters. I just hate this line of thinking.

Not true. The first film holds up pretty well and actually was fairly well reviewed at the time. The other films were rightfully savaged because they were jingoistic garbage.

i said this. but i meant the critics who make this for money. they dont just look movies for fun. they are after all critics. they get paid. its their job.

The movie had a fantastic concept on the idea of aliens being the ones who began all this technology like INDIANA JONES 4. Only problem was that the execution was very poor. The action and effects were some to blow ur mind, but that's all. Too much human screen time and not enough Transformer show hence the movie being too long because the PEOPLE exhausted the excitement. Key character missing for half the movie was very poor storytelling and irritating. We already got the perspective of SAM the first time around. why not a new take with it being from a Transformers??? Too much comic relief to make the story dramatic or important enough to care about. The running time was excessive for no reason AT ALL. I feel the movie was epic, but very unbalanced with no strong plot, Overwhelming and phenomenal concepts, but too much lolly gagging and not getting the job done. There were too many characters (TRANSFORMERS) which originally I thought would have been a great thing. It had me feeling nauseous half way with the excessive explosions and loud sounds. There was no brain teasing time and there is no excuse for that. Many will argue it's a pop corn flick but that has always been a scape goat to excuse lack of depth which i believe ALL movies should have a piece of. Even dumb and dumber had depth with morality issues, friendship, betrayal and love. This movie tried to do so, but got confused if it wanted to be a comedy, action movie, conscious thought provoker, sci fi etc. It was all over the place. The humans had too much screen time and were killing the aw aspect of the realm that involves these unique aliens.

the only great thing about the movie were the VISUAL EFFECTS. WOW!!!!! I can re watch just for Optimus Prime's greatest moment and beginning of the end of the good parts of the movie. Even the cartoon was more enthralling in the 80s and done right in a sense we got to relate to the robots making the humans not so great as we always seem to. Even in a movie with such superior beings they make a human be the key to EVERYTHING. That was disappointing indeed

The Climactic battle I'm sorry to say was WEAK!!!!!!

Not to mention Rambo was a product of its time, and judging it as if it came out today is pointless.

and u actually cared about the characters in the first how they were all introduced and developed well throughout the movie. The second one felt like x men 3.

Yes, his first transformation.

I could see what was happening just fine, and so, I suspect, could a lot of other people. Not being able to name all the pieces and parts of the car as he's transforming doesn't destroy the moment. It was clearly Ironhide, and his form took shape in a very visible way.

I'm not defending it. I'm assessing the impact it had on the overall film in a realistic manner, because few others seem able to do so. People are so worked up about it, they're making ridiculous statements about how much bad stuff was in the movie, about how much time was wasted, etc, which just makes them even more worked up.

I'm putting it in perspective.

i loved prime's transformation in the hangar when he was going to talk to aaron pierce. that was my favorite transformation because it was slow and the score was really good in that scene.

No, the good ones will acknowledge when a movie is simple fun and recommend it on that level. But just because something is intended to be a summer blockbuster doesn't mean it's automatically "fun". It's not that they "can't have fun" it's that they know when something that's packaged as "fun" is simply in bad taste.

A action movie cant be great if when your watching the action and explosions and you dont even know whose involved in the sequence. I thought the movie was really good but i dont even know any characters that well and how they are portrayed in the film series so far except for optimus and bb. Focus and TRANFORMER character developement in the next film. Let the audience get to understand each character uniquely. I bet ppl who arent fans of Transformers are probably wondering who everyone is except for the main characters.

I enjoyed the idea of the story. The casting was really good. The Optimus fight scenes were great. The ending was good. Overall it was a really good film. But without adjustments it can never be great, it has the potential for sure.

So who's balls where bigger onscreen, Devastator's or Dr. Manhattan's? Keep in mind that objects on Imax may appear bigger then they actually are.

Not to mention Rambo was a product of its time, and judging it as if it came out today is pointless.

If stallone had what he had today and rebooted it and was all young again he could bank BIG time. Rambo 4 was a pretty decent action flick and well crafted in a very realistic sense. He was actually vulnerable. Transformers lacked even the meaningful depth of Rambo as a whole.
